I don't have criminal record, nor money but i think instead of doing a job, better to become politician and enjoy life, Indians have slavery mentality and we all are slumdogs, so tell me way to become politician, i can spend some money on hiring a truck, can record a tape with message, I am SECULAR, if anybody will ask me anything, i will say, I am SECULAR and believe in ALLAH, woh sab theek karega, i can collect all the wealth and rule people, i can wear kurta and go to a place like Amethi where i can hire some slave who will shout, why do you vote for him, everybody will say he has done development, i will laugh myself, what development i have done except developing my own pocket, I can have vacation in Switzerland and enjoy. I just want to be politician somehow, show me some way

UNETHICAL ELECTRONIC MEDIA
by Srinivasan Bhanuchandran on May 15, 2009 11:10 AM  | Hide replies

if we watch the electronic media especially the English Channels they look like mouth piece of Congress. It is absolute and blatant violation of all journalistic ethics. Times Now has gone to the extent of forming the govt under congress & Manmohan and are already speculating on the portfolios. This Mislead based on some unrealistic surveys conducted by self interested surveyors is fooling the viewer. It is utmost important that such political party owned channels are regulated so that we have a fair mode of power politics and governance. SBC

Media has to be free. You can not demand that they follow your whims.
Had BJP ruled this country for 60 years, we wouldnt have seen any free media in this country. The hunting down of Tehelka was ample evidence.

I am not of the view that media should not be free but it has to work under some self regulatory mechanism which is effective. It is not the debate of congress or BJP, it is how judgemental has media become today and what wrong signals are emanating from it to the society. In our free country everything is regulated from Stock Markets to Film Industry. Why not Media? SBC

Kandhamal truth
by Magnolia Blossom on May 15, 2009 11:08 AM  | Hide replies

NEW DELHI: After having cited the Kandhmal riots as a reason for breaking with BJP, the Naveen Patnaik government has strongly challenged a list of
those killed in the violence filed before Supreme Court alleging that some "victims" are still alive and even RSS activists have been included.

The BJD-led government on Friday said the list of dead filed by Cuttack archbishop Raphael Cheenath contained names of RSS cadre killed by naxalites and some who are still alive. While Cheenath's list included names of 93 persons killed in the riots that engulfed nine blocks in Kandhmal in the bloody aftermath of the murder of Swami Lakshmananand Saraswati last year, the state in its affidavit said the toll was not more than 42.

Explaining the wide gap between its own and Cheenath's toll figure, the state said: "The petitioner's list included the names of RSS activists -- Dhanurjaya Pradhani, Ajit Kumar Mallick and Prabhat Panigrahi -- allegedly killed by naxalites." Further, 10 persons, declared dead on Cheenath's list, were found alive, the state said, adding the archbishop's list also included three persons killed in police firing as well as two policemen.

It is ironical that the Orissa government is claiming the number of dead has been exaggerated as this is an allegation levelled by the saffron brigade as well. The Patnaik's government's initial response to the violence was that it was more an ethnic conflict than a purely religious one and was blamed for appearing reluctant to take action against the rioters. It was when BJD and BJP seat-sharing talks broke down amid considerable acrimony did Patnaik bring up the Kandhmal riots and claimed that "every bone" in his body was "secular".

Field inquiries from tehsildars and local police about missing names from the official list of those killed during the riots revealed that "in 10 cases, persons are still alive, in 25 cases persons have died because of chronic and other medical problems, in 12 cases reference/history of persons with reported names could not be traced in villages mentioned against their names, and in two cases villages mentioned could not be located," the Patnaik government said.

The state said the Kandhmal district collector has sought further information from the archbishop on these cases by letters dated April 22 and April 30. The response is awaited, it said.

BJP is communal because it is against vote bank politics , It wants Afzal guru to be hanged ?
Congress is not communal because it has used all communities as vote banks?
Congress is not communal because it has settled millions of bangla deshi muslims as vote banks ?
The logic on communalism is strange

Win-Win for India
by viswa raveen on May 15, 2009 11:07 AM

BJP should support Cong and Cong should support BJP, and they must share the term equally. Thus we can keep all the other jokers out of influence and the Govt can take decisions in the interest of the country and not placate their regional parties supporter. The average Indian thinks that both Cong and BJP can do good to the country and especially now with the international pressures on trade, exports, ecinomic slow downs etc. Wishful thinking but the leaders should think in this line, for the betterment of India

No Moral of BJP/Congress
by Virender Bhardwaj on May 15, 2009 11:05 AM  | Hide replies

We are very early debating here about who will form Government in centre. The truth is that no party (BJP/Congress) will form government without support of other parties.

1.      Regional parties who have no pre-poll alliance with BJP will support BJP, then Congress will blame these smaller parties
2.      Regional parties who have no pre-poll alliance with Congress will support Congress, then BJP will blame these smaller parties.

I mean to say that in Indian politics any thing can happen. Both BJP and Congress are same coin. There no moral value left in Indian Politics.
