I think 2009 will give a solid signal to end the multiparty politics in India .Prediction of results are no more a easy game for any big or small political parties .Scientific and science has entered for counting of votes as well as results .Even now a days no body can conclude the body language of voters will bring vote for their party and candidate .people are intelegent enough to select candidate and party as per their performance .So I believe 2009 will give big parties a good no of seats for forming a stable Gov .All small parties will get very less seats and slowly they will either vanish or merged with big parties .Regarding left parties ,it is now clear that their numbers are numbered and no longer they represent peasants, farmers ,labour class and slowly they will be vanished from Indian democratic politics --West bengal will give the signal of ending left politics .Congress has become really old and lost their once spirits, morality ,spark and slowly becoming a party of Leader's choice but not by people choice .So that remains BJP as the only people's choice of party where 80% people remains one faith of choice since Ramayana and Mahabharat time .I imagin NDA will form next Gov ,it is sure .BJP has to go on people's line in future and no longer they can effort to push their wish or choice to people .People of India is total secular and no such hatred or vindictive nature in their heart .All religion lives in India very very peacefully and this the tradition of India

Yes Vino ,I do agree .Now time has come for both BJP and Congress to work for the people particularly Rural populations (70%)whome they have neglected last 60 years and virtually no developments are done .2009 will give them signal whether they want politics in the name of religion, caste ,creed ,regionalism or to work really for the rural India .If they fail then India will go to anarchy and if they succeed then India will be called a superpower with in 10 years .We all know writting my points of view will not get noticed by BJP or Congress but I am happy that my points are remains black and white in this forum .I still believe pen is mightier than pistol

An agriculture-dependent state, West Bengal occupies only 2.7% of the India's land area, though it supports over 7.8% of Indian population, and is the most densely populated state in India. there has been a significant spurt in food production since the 1980s, and the state now has a surplus of grains. The state's share of total industrial output in India was 9.8% in 1980–81, declining to 5% by 1997–98. However, the service sector has grown at a rate higher than the national rate. The state's 1991–2001 growth rate of 17.84% is lower than the national rate of 21.34%. The literacy rate is 69.22%.[59] Data of 1995–1999 showed the life expectancy in the state was 63.4 years, higher than the national value of 61.7 years. The crime rate in the state in 2004 was 82.6 per 100,000, which was half of the national average. In reported crimes against women, the state showed a crime rate of 7.1 compared to the national rate of 14.1

West Bengal has the third largest economy (2003–2004) in India, with a net state domestic product of US$ 21.5 billion.[43] During 2001–2002, the state's average SDP was more than 7.8% — outperforming the National GDP Growth.[44] The state has promoted foreign direct investment, which has mostly come in the software and electronics fields;[43] Kolkata is becoming a major hub for the Information technology (IT) industry. Owing to the boom in Kolkata's and the overall state's economy, West Bengal is now the third fastest growing economy in the country.[45] However, the rapid industrialisation process has given rise to debate over land acquisition for industry in this agrarian state. NASSCOM–Gartner ranks West Bengal power infrastructure the best in the country. West Bengals state domestic product (SDP) grew in 2004 with 12.7 % and in 2005 with 11.0 % . The total length of surface road in West Bengal is over 92,023 km (57,180 mi);[49] national highways comprise 2,377 km (1,477 mi)[50] and state highways 2,393 km (1,487 mi). The road density of the state is 103.69 km per 100 km² (166.92 mi per 100 sq mi), higher than the national average of 74.7 km per 100 km² (120 mi per 100 sq mi).[ West Bengal has eighteen universities

These north Indians are not only attacking us in our own country, even, I have many such reports in my hanging office where victims have mentioned that they have been torturing on our brothers in north America and Europe too. They are spreading hatred, nuisance and doing a lot of wrong propagandas to all foreign nationals against Bnegalees since long. We should protect them fro doing so. It is a matter of our country and its fame.

Why to listen from others and get worried about the tarnished image of the CPIM, we ahve seen in TV channels,Print media the nottriety of the Cadres who are the largest supplier of arms and ammunitions and men to theier bigger brother Maoists in the red corridoors of India.Who else is promoting the extremists in Indian Soil, it is CPIM.Go to Kannor in Kerala you can collect the largest collection of local made Bombs in the world.Who has brutally killed the most number of Political Killings in the country, CPIM.
great writer. some of the most important novels in the naxal period of west bengal. suprised to hear her comments about the CPIM, especially when all the leftist movement in WB where to an extent inspired by events and writers such as her. such irony! to those who havent heard of her watch nihalani's superb rendition of her seminal novel hazar chaurasi ki maa. Nihalani managed to capture the mood of the 70s better than most. If you want to understand what moved the Bengali youth towards the left watch some movies made in the period leading to a landslide for CPIM 30 years back - Ray's Pratidwandi and Mrinal Sen's Interview. Or borrow the translations of this gritty writer M Devi.
this time third front will rule india. it is sad, but there are no option. both congress, bjp will not make magic 272. their allies will split and form government. sharad pawer has more chance to become PM if third front get majority
The main motto of north Indians is to demolish all regional parties and then establish their own dominance by their north run parties into that particular state. Likewise, they plan to rule and run monopoly in business and administrative sectors, all over the country. If Left or other parties were not there then Bengalees would have been extinct by the time. Try to figure out what they did with prabashee Bengalees, who are already extict nowadays. Indians have withhold them from each and every sectors of the society for 50 years. Nehru had over poured others with his anti Bengalee venom and made them victims of their anguish against Bengal.
I dont know ABC of M.Devi,,,,but Left parties is to be blamed for the poor show of their state. All the bengal people are equally responsible as they have voted them to power again and again taking pride for what ,,,,,only God knows. Karat is the most useless man in the left parties. With only 40-60 seats in the centre,,,,he's trying to dictate terms . In fact he is fishing in a fools paradise. I feel sorry for the people of bengal whose state is called as a Metro but has nothing in turn. Look at Bombay, Delhi, Chennai,Bangalore, pune etc,,,,,,where does Bengal stand?????????????????

dude..its not necessary that the ppl vote for the commies....There is a lot of 'scientific rigging' that takes place...so whoever we vote, the left always comes to power....
