Singur & Nandigram hv brought downfall of the Left
by Ram Sharma on May 15, 2009 12:11 PM

Singur & Nandigram incidents hv brought downfall of the Left. It seems that due to long continuous unbroken rule of 32 yrs hv made them forget that common man is more important than anything else. Some Left members hv become very greedy and made lot of money. These people r communists only in name and r with Left, only bcz it is ruling WB.

It is good that Left looses now, which will make them sit and evaluate their mistakes seriously.

The tirade against communism
by Amit Sen on May 15, 2009 12:04 PM  | Hide replies

Congress which ruled all over India with unquestionable support are now decimated. It has been routed in states like UP, Bihar, WB, TN and Gujarat and has grim chances in so many states such as Karnataka, MP, HP etc.Have you seen any agency like Rediff coming out with article after article narrating the pangs of old congressmen who do not agree with the present way Congress works ? Think why.

They rule over WB and Kerela, what they have done to control the population of these States-wherein density is maximum in India. Rather they have increased the poverty of these States.

Yes less density comparing to WB and Kerela, however Bihar and UP also requires drastic actions on population contorl before the total system in the States collapse.

In west bengal population density is higher, because where total exchange of population took place in punjab, but in west bengal left and Nehru encouraged Hindus to come to West Bengal from erstwhile East Pakistan , but no muslims left west bengal. In 1947 42% hindus were in Bangladesh, but today it is only 8%, but in west bengal in 1947 18% were Muslims, but today Muslims are 26% in West bengal. So you can easily see why people density is higher in west bengal

You are correct but I need to add one more fact. There has been a mass flow of Bihari mslms into west bengal, along with the illegal migrants of b'desh. This is raising the population alarmingly. Today WB poll results is showing the political choice of this 26%!!

WB is densely populated because of partition, not due to failure of birth control measure. Check the facts before commenting. Population growth in Northern India is equally high if not more.

Is Mahashweta Devi ready to own responsibility for anything that went wrong while she kept praising the Reds? Is she ready to give up any of the advantages that she gained by her association with Reds? Reds are gang-raping women now, when women ceased to be afraid of them. Was Mahashweta Devi sleeping when they used to garner votes by showing white(widow's) saree to women in neighbourhoods in arguably the most intellectually advanced state in India.

All intellectuals should disclose their source of support and sustenance, and provide accurate income/expenditure balance sheets. That would expose many of them.
Even Red MPs were claiming that they were depositing their salary with the party, and taking Rs.1500/- pm to run their families. This -while they were smoking 1 pack cigarette a day worth nearly Rs. 600/-pm, and their children going to English Medium schools.
Amartya Sen is part of same gang. I have not heard his opinions in any press conference, after the gang rape in Nandigram/Singur. Nor has he commented upon the chastisement of one Ms. Teesta Setalwad by Supreme Court, where court rebuked her for training the witnesses to tell lies to the court. Shabana Azami, Nandita Sen are quite too.

Parasites

Commies can do no more than to bark like dogs in support of their master Marx whose ideologies have died everywhere in the world.
China was able to progress only after it shunned Marxism though retained the name Communist for political control; Russia even embraced democracy.
Indian commies are all out to sell the country to any takers as long as they can gain political control. Thus, they form the lowest sort of political parasite.

development blockers and pseudo secularist's
by Gummadivally MuraliKrishna on May 15, 2009 11:20 AM

More than 55,000 factories in the state have closed down, rendering 15 lakh (1.5 million) people jobless. There are millions of registered unemployed at the employment exchange. In primary education, our state ranks 33rd, tailed only by Bihar and Jharkhand

In Bengal, a meager 27.9 per cent of the population gets filtered drinking water whereas in Maharashtra, this figure stands at 78.4 per cent and in Tamil Nadu 84.2 per cent. It's a sad state of affairs.
If this is the situation after 32 years of rule then they have no right to continue any more.
All thier talk of secularism is bull shit and only opportunistic at the time of elections.
They can support PDp or get support from PDP in Kerala and als muslim league and claim to be secular or protect secularism - this is nothing but sheer opprtunismand pseudo secularism.
All their development model and plank supported by these so called intellectuals has proved to be a sham with these words of ms shweta devi and needs no more proof of thier inefficient and indifferent attidute and governance.
Hope people of west bengal have dumped them in the bay in this election.
lets wait for the results on 16th May.

Left is leprosy
by VijaySagar on May 15, 2009 11:11 AM  | Hide replies

It is surprising how in India the leftist ideology still survives inspite of its obvious failour to do any good to society. Leftists are like leprosy. There cannot be any good with an ideology that believes in the labour mafia and distribution of poverty among people to create equality among the masses. It is so apparent that the communists in India have done nothing good, Kerala is also a good example, where the locals are willing to work under slavish conditions with no self respect in the Gulf countries, but will not budge their fingers without their unions consent when it comes to working in Kerala. Typical Indian mentality .. doesnt it prove to show that we as a nation and people are meant to be ruled, and guided by others on how to improve our living standards.

by sachchidanand dhar on May 15, 2009 11:01 AM

Intellectuals are used by Communist system to psyche the proletariat into believing that Ruling party is not just a great Option, but only good option. For proof, kindly read Soviet Era governance literature.
Every intellectual should be forced to disclose his means of sustenance, source of income, and conditions under which the sustenance is provided to him. This information should be transparent and verifiable. An income and Expenditure balance should be provided, with proof. This kind of information is likely expose many of the intellectuals. After all, when all these years Mahashveta Devi was praising and supporting the reds, she wanted to be believed. Now she is doing a U-Turn, and every one who believed her is left feeling like a fool. That is not so bad, but damage to two generations is already done. Is she ready to own up responsibility, apologize, and compensate in any manner? Is she ready to give up any one of the gains that she acquired from her association with the reds? She has been part of Goebbelsian propaganda machine before, and now she wishes to escape responsibility. Amartya Sen is part of the same gang.
