If there is one party that needs to be treated as a pariah, it is the CPM & not the BJP. There are very few people outside West Bengal who know anything about Mahasweta Devi. The prizes mentioned on the article is very little to be mentioned about her. She has worked for years and years for the most deprived people of our most backward districts. And all those she has done is not for becoming famous or for getting awards but because she is a real dedicated human being who care for deprived ones. And what she has said about Communist are 100% correct. 30 years of Communist rein has turned WB into a nation within a nation. The entire system be it Public or Private is completely politicized. Nobody dare to defy them whether they do a Nandigram or Keshpur strangely they are supported by a section of intelligentsia for whom they(Communist) can do no wrong. They are not intellectuals after all as they don't have a conscience.I urge them to take a leaf out of Mahasweta Devi's book and fight for the truth instead of extracting unfair benefits and favours from Left Govt in lieu of supporting and moreover justifying all their wrong doings as GODLY.
Mahasweta Devi might be a literary genius but she seems to have lost touch with reality.
I am a big opponent of the Commies but I find some of her observations unacceptable. Eg:
1. "If the Nano factory stayed in Bengal, how many people would have got jobs? Maximum 300. And how many farmers lost their livelihood? 20,000. Do the statistics justify the Nano factory?"....what is this?
2. On Mamta Banerjee - "Mamata is the only one who has the heart to go on a 26-day hunger strike for a cause. After Mahatma Gandhi [Images], she is the sole leader who is thoroughly transparent, brave, bold and a darling of the masses."
Come on! Give us a break. Go back and write a good book for us.

AS regards 300 people working in NANO factory is concerned, this is just a joke....had 300 people worked in NANO, then Narendra Modi would not have invited Tata to build the factory there.
