It is time to bury CPM
by patriot on May 14, 2009 04:19 PM

This election should at least drive the last nail on CPM's coffin. It is really a spoilsport in politics. It is now making all out efforts to prevent NDA from coming to power.A party of 20-25 MPs is calmouring for it..What a pity? This shamelss Karat couple and Yechury want to make the whole country full umemployed and ask vote on it...bandh every other day..useless commies will allow others to work also..Ally with terrorists like Madani and ask vote for secularism.Kerala CM V.S is isolated for his efforts to prosecute the Goonda and corrupt party secretary Pinarayi for his in involvement Lavlin corruption. All these thugs go to west and take money..later talk incessantly on imperialism...These political opportunists should be given a political burial after May 16

I totally disagree with Mrs. Mahasweta Devi. Though I have full respect on her. But her information’s are incorrect, even she didn't mention the source of information. Also, As per our daily experience do not support this comment. Though Communists are not successful in all respect, till they are far better than opposition led by Mrs Mamata Banerjee . Her party (including Mrs. Mahasweta Devi ) has oppose almost each and every case development proceed by W.B.Govt. I can mention that even Prof. Amarta Sen also written supporting govt. steps about Singur case. About Nandigram case it was totally planed and organized by opposition and Maoist combination. When it has been announced by Govt. on land enouncement will be done in Nandigram, the opposition allies cut off roads and stops all development works there, meanwhile Mrs. Mahasweta Devi and others of this allies convinced the people of Nindigram that if police enter in village Govt. will occupy their land. They keep Nendigram detached for almost two months. Now when Govt tried to reinforce law and order in this place this opposition group start a movement keeping common people in front. At this point Govt. makes a blander, when the agitating people through stones on police they loose patience and fired on them. Some antisocial also take chance of this situation. That was a sad incident in West Bengal history. But opposition take this as political advantage. As per Mrs Mamata Banerjee ‘s declaration hundreds of women

After seeing so many people extending support to the Left in this forum, I'm sure about one thing - as section is thinking of throwing communism out, is not going to happen.

by mailme alladin on May 14, 2009 04:07 PM

After Mahatma Gandhi [Images], she(Mamata) is the sole leader who is thoroughly transparent,

Good one! There is at least one similarity between them - both are dramatists

Mahasweta - Maha mischief

Nano generating 300 employments only? You can now understand the lack of effort in understanding or the depth of efforts in carrying out the dis information campaign against the Left. On the one hand shout that no development and on the other scuttle all efforts of the Gov't to bring development. Can't Mahasweta understand that even the details sought under RTI Act could not be delivered due to the Court Stay in force. Calculate, deliberate dis information campaigns such as these can very well be uderstood by the people and everybody knows who is behind all these and whose interests these people serve?

Do all the divorcees join Mamata. Earlier Madhabi was contesting for TMC against Budhadeb. She was also divorced. Ever her husband and children didn't support her.

Great but she is now biased
by Goutam Sen on May 14, 2009 03:51 PM

She was great but now she is fully biased for money and congress. Everyday rediff.com and their anti commi mentality's people publish this type of article and sending wrong messages. There is a strong line up playing a role against communism on every media. Rediff never taken any interview of rest 80% of intelectuals (20% support TMC & INC) who support WB govt. Try to make neutral yourself.

Only way to save Bengal from the complete ruin is to discard the Communist mindset who very outdated in thinking, very adament and reluctant to change with the changing time & environment.

Due to Leftist only , the land many greats like...R.N tagore, Netaji Subash Bose, Satyajit Ray, Amarty Sen, Jagadish chandra Bose, Bankim Chatterjee, Swami Bibekananda, Rishi Aurobinda, Kishore Kumar, Saurav Ganguly ...earning a very bad name in the eyes of other Indian brothers..

Time is not far away when Bengal would be compared with the states like BIHAR, UP..

Wake up Brothers !!!!!

An agriculture-dependent state, West Bengal occupies only 2.7% of the India's land area, though it supports over 7.8% of Indian population, and is the most densely populated state in India.
there has been a significant spurt in food production since the 1980s, and the state now has a surplus of grains. The state's share of total industrial output in India was 9.8% in 1980–81, declining to 5% by 1997–98. However, the service sector has grown at a rate higher than the national rate.
The state's 1991–2001 growth rate of 17.84% is lower than the national rate of 21.34%. The state's 1991–2001 growth rate of 17.84% is lower than the national rate of 21.34%. The literacy rate is 69.22%.[59] Data of 1995–1999 showed the life expectancy in the state was 63.4 years, higher than the national value of 61.7 years. The crime rate in the state in 2004 was 82.6 per 100,000, which was half of the national average. In reported crimes against women, the state showed a crime rate of 7.1 compared to the national rate of 14.1
West Bengal has the third largest economy (2003–2004) in India, with a net state domestic product of US$ 21.5 billion.[43] During 2001–2002, the state's average SDP was more than 7.8% — outperforming the National GDP Growth. The state has promoted foreign direct investment, which has mostly come in the software and electronics fields; Kolkata is becoming a major hub for the Information technology (IT) industry.

Owing to the boom in Kolkata's and the overall state's economy, West Bengal is now the third fastest growing economy in the country.[45] However, the rapid industrialisation process has given rise to debate over land acquisition for industry in this agrarian state. NASSCOM–Gartner ranks West Bengal power infrastructure the best in the country. West Bengals state domestic product (SDP) grew in 2004 with 12.7 % and in 2005 with 11.0 % .
The total length of surface road in West Bengal is over 92,023 km (57,180 mi);[49] national highways comprise 2,377 km (1,477 mi)[50] and state highways 2,393 km (1,487 mi). The road density of the state is 103.69 km per 100 km² (166.92 mi per 100 sq mi), higher than the national average of 74.7 km per 100 km² (120 mi per 100 sq mi).[
West Bengal has eighteen universities
