Congress vs Left Vs BJP. A fact file.
by Mahesh on May 14, 2009 03:42 PM  | Hide replies

If there is one party that needs to be treated as a pariah, it is the CPM & not the BJP. What CPM forgets is the fact that support for the BJP & Congress comes from practically every state in the country. That is grass-root support, the kind of support that the CPM cannot even dream of.The BJP & Cong. reflects the real ethos of the country as no other party does. And that's for sure. For the CPM to try to isolate the BJP & Congress is like a parent in the Intensive Care Ward being denied oxygen.Cong. must realize that CPM has always on the wrong side. When Subhash Chandra Bose formed Indian army on his own the same CPM blew hatred. Then after 32 years Jyoti Basu in 1972 stated that Bose was in the right side of the history. And this is the nature of Left party.Left policies are more towards Pro-China than Pro-soviet.And this is what our cureent PM also hinted the nation that Left was always on the wrong side of history.Even though hatred of Cong. towards BJP is more than Left, such a statement cannot be made on BJP by Congress.Throughout its turbulent history the Communist Party has been anti-national.And Congress seeked Left support only in the name of secualarism & Left,an oppurtunist grabbed it immed.Only to pevent pro-indian policies.BJP is more agressive than Congress in foreign policies. And let me tell you that even the exit polls are true,Cong getting 160 & BJP getting 135, the diff. between secualrism & communalism is only 25.Is this a real secularism & Communism divide?

An agriculture-dependent state, West Bengal occupies only 2.7% of the India's land area, though it supports over 7.8% of Indian population, and is the most densely populated state in India.
there has been a significant spurt in food production since the 1980s, and the state now has a surplus of grains. The state's share of total industrial output in India was 9.8% in 1980–81, declining to 5% by 1997–98. However, the service sector has grown at a rate higher than the national rate.
The state's 1991–2001 growth rate of 17.84% is lower than the national rate of 21.34%. The state's 1991–2001 growth rate of 17.84% is lower than the national rate of 21.34%. The literacy rate is 69.22%.[59] Data of 1995–1999 showed the life expectancy in the state was 63.4 years, higher than the national value of 61.7 years. The crime rate in the state in 2004 was 82.6 per 100,000, which was half of the national average. In reported crimes against women, the state showed a crime rate of 7.1 compared to the national rate of 14.1
West Bengal has the third largest economy (2003–2004) in India, with a net state domestic product of US$ 21.5 billion.[43] During 2001–2002, the state's average SDP was more than 7.8% — outperforming the National GDP Growth. The state has promoted foreign direct investment, which has mostly come in the software and electronics fields; Kolkata is becoming a major hub for the Information technology (IT) industry.

Owing to the boom in Kolkata's and the overall state's economy, West Bengal is now the third fastest growing economy in the country.[45] However, the rapid industrialisation process has given rise to debate over land acquisition for industry in this agrarian state. NASSCOM–Gartner ranks West Bengal power infrastructure the best in the country. West Bengals state domestic product (SDP) grew in 2004 with 12.7 % and in 2005 with 11.0 % .
The total length of surface road in West Bengal is over 92,023 km (57,180 mi);[49] national highways comprise 2,377 km (1,477 mi)[50] and state highways 2,393 km (1,487 mi). The road density of the state is 103.69 km per 100 km² (166.92 mi per 100 sq mi), higher than the national average of 74.7 km per 100 km² (120 mi per 100 sq mi).[

Jobs by Tata
by Rajiv Pandey on May 14, 2009 03:37 PM  | Hide replies

The disagree with Mahashweta Devi on 300 Nos Jobs Vs 20,000 Farmers loosing their livelhood.

1. If you compare jobs with farmers, then you should talk of 300 workers supporting on an average 4 people ie Tatas supporting 1200 livlihood

2. when a factory starts , you have business generated in terms of Transport and Logistics, general Supllies, Casual workers around the factory itself, It should have been accounted for by Mahashweta ji

3. To support any Hub Plant there are ancilliaries which set up their shops around the Hub Plant, you have hundreds of such units supporting Maruti in Gurgaon, Faridabad developed as an Industrial township due to Escorts, Pimpri Chinchwad near Pune has hundreds of units due to big autonames there.

4. even if we asssume that 50 ancilliaries would have set up their unit around Tata plant in Singur, each generaing direct job for 200 people, the direct employment by them would have been 10000, even if you take each employed taking care of 4 people in their family the total number of people supported would have been 40000 persons.

5. Mahashweta ji is just repeating what Mamta Banerjee has said, She does not want farmers to come out of their constant miseries of draught and Flood

6. Now since Singur has decided that Industries are not welcome there, West Bengal Government should bring in an ordinance that for next 50 years only Farming will be done at Singur, people should also not be allowed to build houses on that Land

First of all Left parties should avoid Gundaism in their party. The main failure of this party is killing their rival party members. For any reason their main weapon is Harthal. In Kerala they have lauched 220 Harthal in Cong. period. This time they will lose more than 15 seats in Kerala
