What do we expect more from Dr. Singh and his team ?
by Sirisha K on May 13, 2009 08:59 PM  | Hide replies

Congress led UPA government headed by Dr. Singh did a commendable job in their last term. The whole world appreciates the way Dr. Singh and co handled the economic affairs during the global recession. They were brilliant in keeping inflation under control considering that inflation rate was going up like 25% in most of the countries. But what did the MMS government lack or rather what does Indians expect from them in their next term ? I know for sure that Defence would need a bit more priority considering the fact pakistan is under a big turmoil.

I don't understand what this inflation is. Records says inflation is near zero. All commodities are costlier than when inflation was all time high. Now even if inflation increases in decimals the cost of commodities will shoot up. There is no point in controlling inflation figure, actual cost of item has to be under control.

If the CPI-M stands firm......
by Anjan Hajra on May 13, 2009 08:32 PM

The last line "If the CPI-M stands firm......" can be corrected as --" EVEN If the CPI-M stands firm....". Without an unknown reason the communist party recd. respect (!!!!!) from all the central govornment so far that they do not deserver. All the communist leaders should be hanged or thrown to bay of bengal. All of them are criminals...they have destroyed West Bengal on every respect. They are succesfully manipulating all the so called "observers" sent during the elections....The current CM in West Bengal is the worst person in the world......

Will the left be able to hold the fort?
by Ahi Sen on May 13, 2009 08:19 PM  | Hide replies

In 15th LOK SABHA the representation of Left may get reduced by one third of the present strength. As far as Bengal is concerned, it would help the left to regain its strength in the next election in the state. Therefore, as a party CPI (M) in West Bengal has nothing to lose. Whether the line adopted by Prakash Karat was correct or not matters little because no leader in the party takes individual decision and in a Communist party even individual leader's decisions are ultimately approved at least by consensus relieving the party boss from responsibility of failure. Of course,it the decision succeeds the credit may be appropriated by the head of the party as his or her correct approach. The fact is that most of the Bengal leaders as well as Kerala leaders are unwilling to come over to Delhi to man the post, therefore inexperienced leaders rising from the cadre of Student front in Delhi are made to act as leaders and the real players are sitting in both the states.

I doubt. At least in Kerala, a single man is taking all decisions. And unfortunately, he is a corrupt man with a communist label. The influence of his actions will be seen in couple of days! Communist party especially CPM has never had such incompetent leaders as party secretaries both in Delhi and Kerala. Karat is an immature guy and doesn't really know what he is doing. All the alliance and noise he made will fall apart after the elections. He is really making fool of himself and the communists in India. Naidu,Jayalalitha, Pattanaik were allies of BJP at one time and will support them if they get an opportunity. And this is plain truth and everyone knew it except Karat. Karat's game plan is to for a UPA Govt with left support so that he can enjoy his back seat driving. CPM will never join a Govt (any Govt), but will criticize everything from day one. If they are true ideologists the states they rule must be a heaven by now. The one and only strategy of lefts is to criticize everything without actually trying to do anything!

Prakash Karat must come out from facade of Secularism an anti BJP
by Ashwani Arora on May 13, 2009 08:05 PM  | Hide replies

Communists at heart have always been felt as real simple and individuals with extra sensible attitude, but strange enough, that, they always became victim at the hands of real communalists like Congress players,,caste ridden parties like that of Mulayam, Maya or Laloo.Instead BJP hardcore cadre and complete dedicated teams are far more close to communists temperament as far as humanistic concerns are noticed.Where is the communication gap ? or where from Communists loyalty emerges that they they curse BJP as against Congress like cults of self gratifying formations. If Communists join hands with BJP in formation of national Govt.-a great achievement will be made in world history and real welfare of people of India can happen.

What a good communist Prakash Karat you are talking about?

1. When the chance of Jyoti Basu came to become PM, it is Mr Karat who has invoked communist ideology to block Mr basu. Now the same Karat is talking about joining ministry,(and possibly day dreaming of becoming PM through third front, which has already fallen apart)

2. Making personal attacks against Dr Manmohan Singh

3. After last election he was trying his level best to include SP in UPA Govt. The same SP when kicked CPM, he has gone to BSP and trying to prop Mayavati as PM. BSP is a casteist pary. Which communist ideology support caste system?

4. He is a big fool who will lose all his relevance after the election and will make CPM backward by 50 years.

JD-Secular is a spinless party
by Indian on May 13, 2009 07:55 PM

They ditched BJP in state after ruling for 2 years...when BJP turn came to rule they ditched them. Fortunately it went in favor of BJP who got the majority to form the govt with some help from independents...

They now ditched 4th front and devegowda's son is speaking with sonia to support cong....

Till before elections they were saying against cong and just after voting they changed thr colors...

According to me....A genuine Alliance is the one which agrees on seat sharing and portfolio sharing before the elections but not after that....

Lalu, Mulayam, JD-S are parties which try to negotiate after elections based on thr seats....bad for the country,,,
