Even coveted degrees like MBA/MBBS/Phd (National or International) are being bought for a song. You come-up with a fool-proof criteria.

Congress and BJP should bury their differences and come together to form a government. If Mayawati becomes Prime Minister, India is doomed and will be a country of Statues

Who in the world said "mayawati is India's Obama". There can not be a worst comparison.

I hope India get a well educated and intelligent prime minister. Even better if such a person is a Dalit.( but not someone like mayawati who can only be a disgrace).

Agree. India should have had Jagjeevan Ram as the first dalit PM. He was a gentle and well respected politician unlike corrupt and arrogant Mayavati.

Reason for India's Backwardness and Third World Status
by Kumar on May 01, 2009 04:05 AM  | Hide replies

The Reason for India's Backwardness and Third World Status is the lack of education among the masses. For Thousands of years the Manuwadis denied education to the masses by criminal, violent acts in the garb of Manusmriti. Now Modern India has to undo the mess piled up over 5000 years and educate the general population. Once most of the Indians are educated, a golden age will dawn.

It is the missrule of corrupt, pseudo, criminal congress is reponsible for the present situation of India......In congress internal democracy is ZERO... Congress=Gandhi family..... they looted India and played vote bank politics without providing basic need of food, water & electricity even after sixty two years of independence......Vibrant Gujarat is example of BJP rule with 100% water and electricity supply to entire state......

Education is a very broad term, and has a different meaning for every individual and class. The system today is churning out MBAs and Engineers by millions. Imagine the scenario when everybody would be holding an MBA degree: Everyone will know how to get work done from others, but nobody will actually do it. If this is what education is all about, let us do away with education.
Educational reforms are as important as electoral reforms.

Education is the only way out for India. Modern Indian can over come the problems created due to the denial of education for majority of it's citizens for 5000 years. It would take time but we would get there

My vote is definitely ...
by Azeem on May 01, 2009 03:31 AM  | Hide replies

..for the BJP provided they shed their communal agenda. As a die hard Indian, I naturally vote for super strict action against terrorism, revoking Article 370, monitoring 'madarassas',a uniform civil code, reinstating our Kashmiri Pandit brethren, and measures which unite all Indians, I have absolutely no hassles with the 3 contentious 'Masjids' at Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura being respectfully dismantled and assembled in another part of the country, and magnificent temples being built at the three sites - in fact, I shall definitely visit the temples and pay my humble respects there, but..... vulgar and threatening statements like those made by Varun Gandhi, the killing of innocent Muslims all over Gujarat instead of hanging the perpetrators of Godhra, the killing of innocent Christians in Orissa, and Karnataka, the protection of those who killed innocent Sikhs in 1984 - these are issues that rankle nationalist minorities. I am a great fan of Vajpayee ji, I believe Advani ji is a strong leader, and Modi ji a great administrator. All I say is I (and people like me) are as nationalist as any Indian Hindu and must be treated as equal citizens in the land of our birth.

Very nice mesage Mr Azeem..
Many supporters of BJP (incl. me) do it as they feel the under garb of secularism, unfair treatment is given to certain sections of the people.
I am sure no-one wants a mayhem to happen. Riots are in favor of NO-one. Becoz today it might be Hindu Muslim riots where one side or other is dominant ...but later the lawlessnes can take another face and the same oppressor can become victim... e.g. Anti-north Indian riots in Mumbai...
So Justice for All...Peace for all...

the problem comes when there is reservation and subsidy for some and nothing for the majority and treated equally. That small minority start vote bank and then the balance of power changes. Rest is ok.
