politics

Once a politician affliates to one poltical party and in case he wants to join another political party he should be allowed to do so only after 2 years of quitting he previous party. This way only we can avoid opprtunistic politicians. The politician should not be in power for more than 2 terms like in US.MP/MLA should be a native of that constieuncy for more than 5 years, other should not represent. The public to approve whether a candidate is suitable contest as a MP/MLA, now there is no opportunity to interact by some means or other with the candidate to know his personality, vision, objectives, motives, family back ground etc except in road shows which is no way a correct method. So many errors in voter identification cards to be avoided by Govt, we feel ashamed for existance of such a inaccurate system even in 21st century. We want internal QMS in non Govt organisations, why not in Govt? I wish such points to be addressed immediately.

Point based voting system
by sandeep deshpande on Apr 16, 2009 11:31 AM  | Hide replies

In Democratic system it is assumed that people are literate and aware of their rights and duties. but in india where a vast majority are illiterate, half litereate, hungry and where a vote is linked to food, money and other inducements, the best would be to allot points to votes linked to the educational qualifications of the individual voter. Then there can be hope that we elect a right person as our representative in the parliament.

But we will miss all the fun during elections! See if the person is not from the LEFT, then he's the right person, no?

President of India
by pawan pandey on Apr 16, 2009 11:25 AM

In the proposal mentioned by Mr. Anil Kumar, it is improtant that President of India should also be elected by peoples directly. Only in that case, he/she can exercise the rule . in case of President's rule for the clause of Two years as mentioned by you.

The very basics of our democracy is corrupt. You have to spend crores to get elected and you have to work to recover those crores in multiples. Its the worlds hopless system. You see only 30 - 40 mps participates in discussions and that too on party lines. Others are just craps. So what the hopeful thing in this democracy.

the opposition watch dogs or hand in glove
by paloalto on Apr 16, 2009 11:15 AM

and who knows if the opposition party has a watch dog approach on the ruling party or is hand in glove with them and the pre poll mud slinging is only a gimmick; what if its an internal understanding to fool people; only god knows. we really need honest and selfless people to come forward and save our nation; its thought provoking; we don't have 372 such people in a nation of a billion???

still not fool proof
by ashish kaushik on Apr 16, 2009 11:13 AM

Hi Mr. Anil Kumar,

I don't think even this method (voiding elections if polling less than 66.67%) will work. Because our smart netas won't let that happen. Even today, if you count actual polling done, its less than 30%. Rest is being done by bogus polling, with the help of goons fed by netas, or poverty ridden people who cast theier vote just for Rs 100. So, the problem points again to corruption. How to curb that thing is the biggest question that still lies in front of us and there seems to be no way at least as of now. But we have to start from somewhere and your idea is worth of a brainstorming session in parliament.

Save Ship(Democracy) from Tsunami(Communal forces)

Analysis show Cong and UPA is best fit to rule the Nation
Here dependent variable considered as national parties(y)
Independent variable considered as People of the country(x)
Regression line analysis provides estimates of the dependent variable for a given value of the independent variable. The regression line is called the best fitted in the sense of minimizing the sum of squared errors.(least squares estimation) The best fitted line shows the relationship between the independent (x) and dependent (y) variables better than any other line. For developing the measure of the goodness of fit, we will first examine the variation in y. Let us try the variation in the response y. since y depends of x, if we change x then y will also change. In other words a part of variation in y is accounted by the variation in x’s .We can mathematically show that When R(regression line) negative, it means that y decreases as x increase and when R positive that is y increases when x increases. Thus R (regression line) gives a measure of strength of the relationship between the variables x and y. Now, the natural question is how large should this R be in order for the fit very good. There is a formal statistical test based on F distribution which can be used to test R is significantly large or not. But as a thumb rule we may say that if R is greater that 0.9, the fit is very good, if it is between 0.6 to 0.8, the fit is moderate and if it less than 0.5 it is not good(i.e called game number)

How the Portfolio to be alloted to become the Minister?
by Tarak Parikh on Apr 16, 2009 11:10 AM

According to my knowledge I prefer to appoint minister who has knowledge of that particular portfolio. He may be from any party.
As we go for job employee ask our qualification etc. that system should apply for making minister.
