Look who's talking?
by Jay Sen on Apr 10, 2009 03:12 PM  | Hide replies

Fiona,

You Chirstians have no right whatsoever in questioning the veracity of things Hindu. The Christian faith is governed by "holy men" who are the biggest obscurantists.

As others have pointed out - what is the evidence of Adam and Eve? And Eve eating the apple - these stories are childish. However, Hindus have never dared question these in a public forum. The Bible has no scientific approach to things physical - for example - the origin of the universe. All it says is "in the beginning God created the world". Your church attacked Darwin on his natural selection theory. Who is backward? And YOU are laughing at Hindu gods like Ram :-) LOL.

If dimwits like you take care to study to study other religions, you will realise that Hindu ancients had figured out the universe in a most scientific manner. For what YOUR religion represents, just read Da Vinci Code and Angels&Demons. Your CHristian organizations got the movie banned in India. Why are you scared to confront some fundamental questions raised in the movie/book?

One last thing: Pls communicate within your community that bribed conversions will not appreciated in this country. We do have some insidious "secular forces" out here - but their support for you is opportunistic and based on the bribes your missionaries are paying.

The bias of the anti-Hindu electronic English media is evident in the hyper excited reporting of the church attack. The likes of Girish Karnad, U R Ananthamurthy and Mahesh Bhatt Teesta Shabana Azmi Barka Dutt Sardesai know which side of their bread is buttered. Their selective amnesia is amusing. Did these raise any voice in support of amaranth pilgrims protest or against durga pooja protest or other innumerour atrocities on Hindus all over Bharath
Nobody talks about the killling of Swami Laxmanananda and his 4 associates, burning of the Radhabai chawl that killled 16 people, which provoked sharp reaction from the Hindu community, Godhra train carnage and Marad killling which was buried silently by so called seculars.

They never react on lakhs of Hindus being displaced from Kashmir or innumreous atrocities on hindus. These opportunists are no better than traitors of the past who are ready to sell the dignity of the country for their selfish gains.

the antinational english media want to high light any thing that is anti hindu anti BJP. for you information there a a far greater number of farmer deaths & deaths of adivasis in andhra then during the BJP rule. only the same is not highlighted by the english press . the reason mr gupta is because India happens to be one of the very few major countries in the world whose dominant media is controlled directly or indirectly by foreigners. The usurpation of control has actually been by Americans, much of it through surrogates of evangelical organisations that are in fact quasi-government agencies. In India, most English language media outlets, are, in effect, vying with each other to accelerate the fragmentation of India in consonance with Anglo-American goals. The alleged oppression of minorities is the political bridgehead that modern evangelical organisations have entrenched in the public consciousness, relentlessly distorting its reality and using it ruthlessly to fuel discontent within India. By deliberately misrepresenting the Godhra communal riots as genocide, though both communities suffered, the media has gleefully incited Islamic terrorist attacks against Hindus and harsh international condemnation of India.

Careful lest we become what we hate
by Argumentative Indian on Apr 10, 2009 03:11 PM

Let us not hate anyone so much, that we ourselves become the object of our hatered.

Most of the messages on this board are complaining about conversions, and Christians behaviour in buses / public places etc.
Some crib about lack of liberties in Saudia and other muslim countries.

My answer, SO WHAT?
Is this what we really want to become?
Do we want to go about preaching our religion in buses and trains?
Would some of us like to go to Africa and convert the destitute to our religion?

Do we want to kill civil liberties in India?

Does it make any sense?

Our religion says all paths lead to God.
We are a contented peoples.

I think our real enemies are those who attempt to paint a picture of violence against us and scare us and hold back our progress even as our country has just begun to move forward.

falsehood of the political class

The alleged oppression of minorities is the political bridgehead that modern evangelical organisations have entrenched in the public consciousness, relentlessly distorting its reality and using it ruthlessly to fuel discontent within India. By deliberately misrepresenting the Godhra communal riots as genocide, though both communities suffered, the media has gleefully incited Islamic terrorist attacks against Hindus and harsh international condemnation of India. As a corollary, the rise of the BJP inspired them to equate mundane nationalist aspirations with the oxymoron of Hindu extremism. Yet, there is resounding silence on the role of the minority community in providing succour to Islamic terrorism through vote bank politics and concealment from attention

If the Govt cannot ban conversions, at least, it should not encourage conversions. If it does not interfere, it should have no objection for reconversions and, as a matter of fact, encourage reconversions. The majority Hindu has no say in any matter. They are penalised for being a majority. Their lives are cheap. The person heading the party and the person heading the Govet belonging to minority communities silently watch the deaths of thousands of Hindus with callous unconcern. If thousands and thousands of Hindu temples are demolished, they just do not bother. If an insignificant structure somewhere in a corner is touched, they themselves raise a hue and cry. India is one country where minorities rule the majority. This state of affairs needs to be changed at once. WE cannot afford to lose any more of Hindu lives - common citizens, BSF Jawans, Army Commandos. He betrayed the country. All those

Re: DO ISKON OR SWAMIS TARGET THE POOR IN THE WEST?
by phukan barua on Apr 10, 2009 03:15 PM
India happens to be one of the very few major countries in the world whose dominant media is controlled directly or indirectly by foreigners. The usurpation of control has actually been by Americans, much of it through surrogates of evangelical organisations that are in fact quasi-government agencies. Paradoxically, Leftist Indian political parties supposedly hostile to a US presence in India have been subdued with alacrity by these quasi-state religious agencies, which have been operating effectively in other parts of the world as well. In Latin America, where liberation theology offered succour to the poor, the very same neo-fascist, American evangelical organisations, working in conjunction with the US State Department and intelligence services, ousted them. In India, most English language media outlets, are, in effect, vying with each other to accelerate the fragmentation of India in consonance with Anglo-American goals.
