In the last five years, Andhra Pradesh has become a bastion of the the Christians. In Coastal AP, there is a church every 1 km now - and people being enticed with bags of rice and money. CM YSR Reddy's son-in-law, Anil Kumar, is one of the bigger evengelists. These conversions have happened brazenly and no Hindu encouraged to raise voices. In any case, the Congress is a "secular" party, so anything anti-Hindu is music to its ears.

In Orissa, similar moves by the missionaries is being met tooth for tooth by the Hindus.

Hindus NEVER make the first move in any matter (this is known to everyone). Whether its a good thing or something that needs correction - is another matter. Fact is, we always REACT.

And in Karnataka, Orissa - Hindus have taken up cudgels and hit back against this horrifying practice.

Christians are pathologically evangelical. In trains/buses with co-travellers, in public places - these guys are always upto praising the lord (nothing wrong with that) but subtly or not-so-subtly running other religions down (specially Hinduism). I personally have been "caught" up with these guys twice - one has to admire their fanatical resolve and blind faith. And the biggest evangelists are the recent converts. As they say "naya mussalmaan zyada pyaaj khata hai"!!!

After Kerala TN Orissa missionaries aggressive in AP and Karnataka
Example - Alarming 5 fold increase in Kandhamal Christian population from six per cent in 1971 to 27 per cent in 2001 ,It began with the arrival of Christian missionaries in the area who found the remote region very conducive to conduct prosetylization amongst the poor tribals. The conversions continued unhindered until the arrival of Swami Laxmanananda who put strenuous efforts to stop conversions and help reconversion to Hinduism as well. If not for his effort Kandhamal would have been another Nagaland in the making where the separatist movement has wrecked havoc in the state.
The aggressive Christian proselytization in Orissa today pitched previously peaceful tribals into warring camps of Christians and non-Christian. This has has vitiated the peace that has existed with various communities for millenia.
Why Orissa
Orissa has been specially targeted because of a huge tribal population. This allows the missionaries to work from the scrutiny of the media and carry our their nefarious activities.
In Kandhamal district, for instance, the Christian population has increased from six per cent in 1971 to 27 per cent in 2001, despite a law enacted by the Orissa Legislature in 1967 to prevent conversion by allurement, coercion, bribery and cheating.

yes patel, you`r right.after converting north-east pockets missionary and evengelos are trying to reduce the hindu population in orissa and AP. They say people (mean poor hindus tribal)are attracted to the path of `truth` and `lighting`of `Lord`
on their own and come into fold of christianity willingly after leaving their `dark` faith. what a superb attraction! But should one ask those missionaries and their `holy`evengelos why then muslims and sikhs are not enlightened by `holy`path in India and conversions are only for poor hindus.Let missionary go and convert only 200 muslims in any poor and backward muslim`hamlet in India and see the results.The mullas and their leaders will castrate those evangelos and ravish their nuuns.Hindus are soft target and conversion is a conspiracy to make India Christo-Islamic state.

Christanity has come only after the birth of christ before that it was only hinduism.

I dont want to degrade any one god. But you convert is making everyone to pass ugly comments on gods.

nothing can be achieved by blaming missionaries at least these missionaries provide bread, education to these poor ppl where as Hindu leader move in AC cars and live in posh houses if we want conversationt to stop provide basic necessities to these poor ppl after all bread is the only god of ppor ppl

Pls stop denigrating Hindu gods and forced conversions N we also will come and pray in church

The violence against Christians in Karnataka is a reaction to the aggressive propaganda and mindless evangelism of hundreds of foreign-funded, cultic, fundamentalist, fanatic and revivalist Christian groups spread all over the State and elsewhere.
They denigrate Hindu gods and rituals as barbaric. They are the root cause of tension between Christian and Hindu communities. Why should anybody be surprised if the ‘extremists’ among Hindus are offended and react violently?
It is high time leaders of the established mainline churches, known for their erudition, equipoise and empathy, came out in the open and disowned such provocative acts of intolerance of the fundamentalist Christian groups masquerading as real Christians.
How can the Christian preachers propagate that their faith is the best in the world without reading what the scriptures of other faiths have to say? My anguish is shared by many. One can make a difference without being preachy.

Please respect Hindus sentiments and stop forced conversions

well said sardar patel! ask those evengelos what muslims say about `jesus`.He was not crucified,he was lifted up alive in heaven and another poor fellow was transformed as jesus and crucified.let Christians fight with muslims and decide actually what is the matter. Hindus never objects to anyone`s belief as long as it is not taken to denigrate theirs.
