Who said calling Bihari to a Bihari is shame on him?
by Nishant Kumar Yadav on Jan 28, 2005 10:33 PM

I am Bihari and I feel prouder to be called as Bihari. Why would I see the darkest part of Bihar why dont you look at the positive part of Bihar? I dont blame only Lalu Prasad Yadav is responsible for creating such a situation. Do you think if Lalu leaves Bihar then Bihar is going to be change any more? If you think it is going to happen than you are wrong my dear.
Why dont you visualize the situation of Bihar? Why are you blaming a single person? Why dont you say the truth? Do you think if you say corruption is within the people of Bihar then anyone is going to sought on you? No one going to sought on you because it is truth. So only changing the chief minister is not a solution.
Truly if you feel to change the situation of Bihar then Change the people of Bihar Change them to think positive. Change them to think Bihar is their home. Change them to think improvement of Bihar. If you really feel to change the Bihar call me or mail me I will tell you the 100% truth how to change the Bihar.

Being a ''Bihari'' is a matter of pride to me too.
by priya ranjan kumar on Jan 28, 2005 09:01 PM

Dear Kumar
whatever u ve written in article is correct, but one thing i am not agree to yr point of view.."if u somecone call to Bihari it is inslut for them"..it is totaly wrong...and hope in next article u will br take care of this type word...
I would like to tell u..due to some political leader the condiation of Bihar is like that...yah we choose the leader like Laloo ,its our fault...but it doesn't mean that due to some person all Bihari r like this..we r very much a head in enducation compare to other state and in many field..eventhough in our state infrastructures r not good enough...we r having good will power ...
in the last but not the least"we r very much proud to call as"Bihari"..
Jai Bihar

bihari
by sambasivarao nutakki on Jan 28, 2005 08:36 PM

This article on bihar by salilkumar is interesting and thought provoking. We have no right to insult any state or residents of that state.

Bihar has a great heritage. Politicians brought that state this level. The rulers of bihar should be ashamed but not biharis.

Why Bihar is like this
by sanjay on Jan 28, 2005 07:45 PM

Nice reading but not detailed enough. Hopefully you will have more later. I am from Bihar and proud to be called a Bihari babu. Though I am also among the thousands that have relinquished the state and am forcing my parents to leave Bihar ASAP.
Bihar started going downhill after the Students agitation started by Jayaprakash Narayan. I was a kid then but being close to JP had supported this movement. I remember there was a CM - Abdul Ghafoor and people had a novel way sending him a message saying that the Govt was corrupt and the people did not like it - Exactly at 9 PM everynight people would start sounding their steel "thalis", electric poles etc for 5-10 mins. The CM got the message and things improved but the JP movement led the students astray and then the death bell came when Lalu became the CM. Though the muslims, poor and lower caste people vote for Lalu (the upper class voted for him the first time around but now they are neither interested or get to vote - their votes are already cast when they reach the polling station) their situation has either remained same or .

Bihar and UP synonymous
by Gowtham on Jan 28, 2005 07:45 PM

My thoughts are on the same lines as the author's. I feel that UP too belongs to the same planet as Bihar. Nowadays people refer UP-Bihar in the same breadth.
I strongly feel that Democracy should be abolished in these states for a period of 5 years and Governer's rule imposed with strict regulations. The center should appoint a minister for UP-Bihar affairs and concentrate on these regions.

Why everybody is after bihar
by Anwar on Jan 28, 2005 07:43 PM

Bihar is not as bad as the media is making it to be. I agree that there is non development at all but the image that media is creating is different. A person who doesn't hail from bihar will think that people there get killed at the drop of a button but this is not correct. Delhi and lots of other places are worse than bihar when it comes to crime but why bihar takes the center stage.
