It is nice to 2 c the other side of bihar...but i would like to hear more articles on the election of Bihar and more elaborate report on fields where Bihar is making a mark and competing with other states.
Hi Salil Good luck to you on your brave venture in the election season. I don;t see how this can ever get better ... its like this endless thing. -Arpita
Hi Salil....I am a Bihari and a proud one....I do not feel insulted ob being called a Bihari and feel extremely sorry for those people from Bihar that do.
I acknowledge and know what is wrong with my state...just because of the current bad condition of my state due to petty politics and ineffective leadership, I don't need to lose my pride and feel insulted at being called a Bihari.
We are people with a great history and culture and will overcome our current problems...we will have a great future ahead.
And I will request journalists like to you to write more positive things about Bihar...your current article does not offer any solutions...just paints a worse picture than the already bad situation. Last but not least...Biharis do not need outsiders to feel sorry for them...
Today iwent thru the article planet Bihar.I agree 100% that india is shining but bihar is far away.Bihar was really leader in country making.becoming bihari is proud even today but residing in bihar is the sign of backwardness. vdnarain
Mr Kumar seems warped in his article. Is he trying to degrade biharis or is this an article written in praise. I though I knew english, but at the end I was left scratching my head in wonder at the pointlessness of the article. And though Mr Kumar may feel proud to be a malayalee, the readers would like to know how he would feel about that fact being paraded at every drop of a hat. He would be likely to scream bloddy murder I assume. Being a bihari who has lived out of bihar for much of my adult life, I have often been the butt of jokes cracked by the likes of Mr Kumar but have gone on making my living the honest way. And before I forget..Mr Kumar if you're scared of bullets why dont you travel to Gujarat or Maharashtra wehere all you have to fear are a few well meaning communal riots or spend your retirement days in Delhi where your well meaning domestic help will just camp off with your life savings...after having slit your throat..
So Mr Kumar dont be judgemental about a society you cant even begin to appreciate
That's right. Bihar is probably the greatest "producer" of IAS, IES et al officers every year. And this is probably because there are very few candidates (if any) from other states. Down South, people aim at reaching the American shores ASAP. North of the Vindhyas, I guess exams like CAT & GATE have taken over the aspiring Post-Graduates' interests. In all states other than UP (includes Uttaranchal), Bihar (includes Jharkhand), Rajasthan (includes....well..just Rajasthan) and probably MP (includes Chhatteesgarh), the Civil Services exams seem to have no takers. Which, in a way, is sad, ain't it?

Hi pals.
well, kudos to you and ur fabrication skills. I don't think that anybody could come out with a better euphemism in your letter for the phrase " Grapes are Sour". Being a Bihari myself, with all three of us brothers IITian, I would like you to go beyond rhetoric and self aggrandizement (if u can, ofcourse) and explore the situation in IITs also,in which also, Biharis boast of more than 20% share year after year. But might be for a dead cat like this, you can come out with something that there is no takers for IITs also in other parts of country. And I will second you this time, because I am in bombay right now and I witness the art of chickening out when confronted with competition by providing same lousy reasons and excuses that you have provided.
I am originally from Bihar and presently working as a scientific co-worker in Germany. I was in India for 3 weeks and went to see my birthplace Gaya. Over there I met one of my friend who is employed in PWD and was supposed to have an election duty. He said he has been several times to this duty and he never saw even a single fair election. Only booth capturing and only booth capturing.....
Mr Salil I guess when a building is ruined then it wont be a nice idea to repair it but it would be nice to demolish it to start afresh. Same is the case with Bihar and only God can do this job. Hope Bihar's politicians will be a little bit ashame by your atricle. India really needs people like you. I wish you all the best for your future endeavor.
