At the outset, it is very unfair to draw comparisons between Tendulkar and Kohli. For that matter between Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar too. The simple reason being, these gentlemen faced totally different set of bowlers in their careers. Is it okay if we draw comparisons, between, Marshell, Garner, Holding, Roberts, Thompson, Lillee, Imran Khan, Hadlee with those of Ambrose, Mcgrath, Brett lee, Wasim, Waqar etc. Now the present crop of bowlers, with the exception of may be Mohammed Amir, Mitchell starc, we cannot recall any bowler coming closer to the some of the legends we saw in earlier generations. This does not mean Mr. Kohli is inferior cricketer; Basically the problem lies with cricket commentators/critics etc. As a matter of fact, we have to adhere to the comparison of set of cricketers of SAME generation ONLY. Then it would be fair comparison as they would have face similar bowlers/pitch conditions. It would be advisable to compare Root, Smith, Kohli and Kane williamson.
