Raghuram Kamath
The FantasticGlancer & true Indian
by Raghuram Kamath on Jul 01, 2016 02:14 AM

It is rare sight where one person comes as a combo package. Our own RJS had this feature in him. He bowled left arm off cutter & Batted right arm. He delivered under pressure for his team, whenever the team overlooked for his performance, more often than not he succeeded in both areas of batting / bowling. The fact that he was crowned "CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS" in the 1985 one day world series, is in itself sufficient to do the talking. A slow starter, had the bundle of energy stored within to attack the opposition destroying their confidence & makig the inning ways easy or his team & India. His execution of shots was impeccable & made batting look so easy. His Glance down the ground crossed the ropes more often. A stylish Batsman/BOWLER 6'2" tall, toned body etc attracted other Gender , Hence he had a huge Female Fan Following. His statistical figures in both formats are also excellent. I am proud to say he is a 'Mangalorean'. Let SMS Bless U on this special day 1/7/2016

Kumble the right choice
by Jay Subramanyam on Jun 30, 2016 07:49 PM

To start with Shastri has no business to crib as his was just a stop gap arrangement as team director, it wasn't even the official coach's assignment that he feels, has been taken away from him. Secondly, he should realise that there is something called a balance sheet. If team India won quite a bit during his tenure, it lost a few too. Simply picking out the highlights and claiming he did a great job is not quite on. Thirdly, I understand, unlike Kumble, he never provided a road-map of how the team would evolve under him and simply bragged about his past record during the interview. Fourth, of course, was his lack of decorum while going to the press during matches and talking in brash, abrasive tones as though he had created a team of world beaters.

I would imagine Kumble is a perfect choice as he scores over Shastri on all parameters.

Choosing the right person was main criteria.

The selectors have shown maturity by selecting Anil Kumble and rejecting a manipulator who have taken everything for granted. Wish Kumble all success.

ASHI
Ravi vs Saurav
by ASHI on Jun 30, 2016 07:03 PM

We should not make any conclusions of this ongoing spat as they both are good enough to know that this is media\'s noise and nothing to be talked about, as we all know they both know each other and like. Let\'s not go with the media version and wait for the final words when ravi will be back.
