Botham's comments

seem to be coming from pure jealousy.Even a very old fashioned cricketer like Boycott has said "IPL has been a wonderful thing for cricket."

IPL shouldnt be there - Ian Botham

Why is Botham envious of players earning their due these days. This is not 19th century and money is important for everyone.

Come on beefy,Please don't forget that its the English cricket board who first started the T20 cricket. But its the Indian board who have marketed T20 cricket really well through IPL.I think its the case of "grapes are sour" with Botham and ECB.English cricket should take all the blame for starting T20 cricket in the first palce.

IPL shouldnt be there - Ian Botham

Let Ian Botham mind his own business and dont try to advise and teach Indian cricket Board what to do. England is the oldest cricket playing nation and has so far not won even a single world cup. They are still happy when they retain ashes against Australia in Test matches. He as a cricketer should try to improve prospect of his country in the world cup instead of advising others what to do. The career of cricketer is not a long and every one has right to earn a living as well as save for the future once their cricket playing days are over.

If you have a headache cut the head off
by Ramesh Nakhwa on Sep 05, 2014 01:35 PM

Mr. Botham I am sure you went to school. Yur teachers must have have taught you that if you have a headache you are not supposed to cut the head but treat it.
He has first got its facts wrong IPL does pay other baords to give their playesr for 2 months. Second if it gives rise to corruption then correct it rather than scrapping it.
The truth is the white skins do not like brown skins to own a successful arrangement where money is made and billions enjoy and invest in the game. They want themselves to get enriched. The last time Botham saw the map of England it was still a small country which is losing its glory by the day. Wake up Botham and face the reality

truth said by wrong man

Its sure that after reading this,India will start critising botham or start making fun of him which is not unfair as he deserves that..but what he said is not wrong...Its been proved that IPL is destroyer of Indian cricket which we will never accept as we in India we dont have any other sport to cheer and enjoy on such a grand scale...Due to IPL, India is almost is zero in test cricket , better in ODIs but that too on flat tracks or againest ordinary sides like England and a big power in meaningless format of T20...T20 format will never produce bowlers like Wasim, Donald or Pollock so batsmen emerging for this format will be always get exposed whenever they face quality bowling which regularly happens with our heros like Raina, Dhoni or Dhawan....realistically we dont have any chance to regain the world cup but with D/L factor i.e. Dhoni luck factor, anything is possible...
