Can I also choose my retirement?
by K Ram on Sep 22, 2013 01:27 PM

I worked sincerely over 3 decades in government service and need to work few more (I'll decide the span) years to accumulate some more savings (is there a word, "enough"? never in my dictionary though) and build another villa. Would I be allowed to choose when to retire? I'd love to work and earn even if my vision, legs, brain let me down and I deliver below par. Possible???? I assure you, one fine day, I shall announce the world I'm retiring. After all, government staff strength is in millions and I be extending my career alone won't be doing any worse damage blocking any opportunity for any youngster...

Why not till Sachin gets his grandson as his batting partner? Why should Sachin decide about his retirement? Have selectors and BCCI become Sachin's paid servants?

What a Forum

I love this forum. People speak their heart out. Emotions.... be it good, bad, loving, hating are spurted out here. Right to speak (Write) is well used here. People in this forum are right in their own sense but unfortunately most of them are not well updated and their reactions are not apt.
Sachin is most worshiped cricketer in world cricket(will always be)but still look at the comments he has been receiving for last 2-3 yrs. We curse GOD for not getting what we want, then who the hell is Sachin. He is just God of cricker ???
Yes its time he should Retire.....

No, not even if Kiri paid for the tickets. Why should India be represented by pensioner? Then, why not recall Kapil, Sreenath, Venkitesh Prasad, Prasanna, Venkataraghavan, Gundappa Vishy, Novjot Siddhu, and of course Gavaskar?
