Even if that's right, it's a good decision. Better than giving BR to murderers.....
First of all giveing sportsmen BR is debatable. Even if they qualify for it, then Sachin is not the first sportsman to get this - there are numerous achievers at World Level prior to him - be it Dhyanchand or Geet Sethi or V Anand.

Why is Sports debatable? When Murderers like Rajiv can get BR, what is Sachin's or Lata's sin? They truly deserve it. Also Dhyanchand as mentioned.

BR cannot based on that. What Anand has contributed to Indian Chess is more than Sachin's contribution to Indian Cricket. Cricket was always popular even before Sachin came but Anand has brought Chess to the common man - more and more kids have taken to chess and India produced so many GMs subsequently. Same with Sethi. If holding WR at the time of getting BR is a criterion, then Gavaskar and Kapil Dev should have also got during their retirement.

I dont understand what happening now. This is no doubt that Sachin is world figure hero. People should definatley respect him. But this is too much. India econy is going downward. But politician now ready to do politics in the name of sachin by giving him great award. Is sachin want this ? In India only sachin hero no other indians ? shame to us and shame my country. Since 10 days every where sachin. Plz. dont do this.

yes, you are right. We are Indian. We forget easily. When sachin was not in form, that time most of us told that sachin should retire immediately. He is nit in form. But now time and people changed.

Its only through bl1nd lens of Modi that you feel MMS did not deliver. Look at 9% growth continuously for 6 years, nuke deal, all the rights related bills, sensex all time high....some things that no Indian govt has done before.
