The only sportsman who deserves Bharat Ratna is Dhyan Chand all modern day players play for money. they pocket entire money and demand exemption from all taxes. they lose and win matches for money only. all these fake emotions are only to grab more advts and to pocket more money.

A wrong decision and what is cricket which is played in few countries where British were ruling and lazy Britons used this for spending the looted money from their colonies and to pass time by sitting at the gymkhanas and clubs. A real waste.

No Beta. No hard feeling. I had a good laugh when I read about the news of conferring Bharat Ratna to Sachin for cricket. If Sachin will be laughing too.

ha ha ha ha, what a joke that is. I admire your obsession for Sachin but feel sorry about your knowledge about the honour Bharat Ratna.
I do not think there should be so hype on this as The Great Legend deserves it. He has put NEW life into our sports particularly in cricket and is a unique personality in humility yet is the greatest in creating unsurpassable records in the game. If others deserve in their fields they can also be given Bharat Ratna.
Yes the most deserving and only one good action Manmohan Singh did as PM. He is the dearest to all Indian hearts. The sudden change of weather at Bangalore showed that even the heavens shed tears as he bid adieu. No one can replace you in our hearts.
When Richard Hadlee with half the talent of Sachin could be knighted even when he was playing why not Sachin who has completed 200 tests and set numerous records. Is it due to bias against India by our old masters.

For Knighthood to Mr. Tendulkar, the King or Queen of England has to be the Head of the nation and not the President of India sitting at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Mr. Singh,
Some of the Indians who received knighthood:
1. E Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan: 2nd President of India received the British Knight Bachelor in 1931. Stopped using the title ‘Sir’ after we received Independence. 2. Rabindranath Tagore: Nobel Laureate received knighthood in 1915. He repudiated his knighthood after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in April 1919. 3. C. V. Raman: Nobel Prize winning Physicist received knighthood in 1929.
These are just three names which will be easily recognisable to most Indians. There are over 150 Indians who were knighted.

Dear Uday,
Indians are no longer allowed to accept knighthood.
Bharat Ratna is the HIGHEST civilian award that can be bestowed upon an Indian by the Govt of India, whereas Knighthood is NOT the highest civilian award in UK!!
