you should know no one is indispensable in this world. The old order always changeth giving place to new. Sachin do not have the years with him. and if he goes its not that the Indian cricket will end with him either. Sourav, Dravid, Kumble and Laxman were once considered pillars in Indian Cricket they are not now in the scene it doesnt mean Indian Cricket has not filled upe thier places. Instead playing Sachin you are declining a youngster of his rightful claim to the team. Other countries never think abot individuals. Ponting was no less important to the Australians than Tendulkar to us still they have been able to drop him and look ahead. and what you say about performing abroad, India has always struggled in foreign pitches barring a few matches and that includes Tendulkar too. So guys please think before you take the cause of Tendulkar.

i believe he should play 1 series where he can satisfy peoples believe on him and then think abt retirement, as per me in ODIs he should have retired after WC 11, anyway no in Test he should go to SA and play

the so called greatest batsman who failed miserably at home, after 24 years of experience & 190 odd tests , against bowlers who were not sure of their selection & were in & out of team ( panesar , lyon etc )will not be able to cross 5 against SA bowlers in SA.

His fans are happy if he is able to cross 10 these days.

We Indians are still to learn to respect our icons. We forget their contribution to the game. The great Lankan former captain Arjuna Ranatunga is that test cricket is alive internationlly due presence great players like Sachin. His very presence creates a sense great confidence in the indian dressing room.Ask any present player and he will vouch fot it.As regards poor form, please remember no player barring Dhoni and Kohli has been consistent.Sahwag and gambhir are very good players.unfortunately, they are not in good form. It does not mean that they should dumped. They will return to good for sooner than later. The day sachin thinks he is aliability he will retire from test cricket.Dr D K Saxena

We Indian need to learn to control emotions and need lot more practicality. Many of us also need to learn to stop typing up a lengthy nonsensical comments..

Ohh and people judge you by your comments and not by you typing Dr or Prof in front of your name....

He should leave when people are asking WHY instead of waiting for a day when they ask WHY NOT.

as long as country wants him and as long as sachin wants to play no one has the right to comment upon his retirement. If one does ,is not true Indian or Sachins fan.

I totally agree. And to add to it, nobody has the right to discriminate anyone based on the age. As long as Sachin is performing on the field, people should keep their mouth shut and enjoy.

KALLIS SHOULD RETIRE FIRST
by j p on Mar 25, 2013 09:00 PM

sachin is not retiring from test is becoze of kalis. he is only two years away from sachin's highest run record in test. so he want to play as long as and once kalis is retire he will retire soon after.

Now no more threat from Ponting. as he is already retire.

May be sangakara or jaywardane is next threat for his record.

Sachin thinks he has played his last game. But the Board/selectors think otherwise. It is the greatest mystery in the history of Indian Cricket.

Should consult an optician,.
Not that he only contributed less in the series as he normally do,
he is still a ace player second to none.
But looking at his performance is it possible that he cant see the ball as clearly as he used to do.
Has his vision deteriorated in all that dust.sun and concentration.
Possibility is there.
Any way nothing to undermine the Master blaster its just my thought.

At around 40 the eyes tend to develop long sight and hence the muscles will take around 1 year to adjust to the changes. It is true for every sports person and those who have overcome the tough times have performed well afterwards. That is the same reason many people who retire before 40 feel later that they can come back.

This is similar to the blank feeling one gets midway when running marathon for the first one or two occasions. Once we get over that it never happens even if one becomes aged.
