already lot of youngsters coming in, it is good that team India has experienced players like him. The grace of his presence at the ground itself is so high that people love to see him and young players gets confidence when partnered with such a great player. I think we r lucky that we still have Tendulkar in Indian Team...love to watch...it seems a true Gladiator is there in Team India..So Graceful !!

We should not be so ignorant of the fact unless we happen to be be die hard critic of him.Since the talks of his retirement in 2007 after Carribean world Cup,he scored 16 centuries. No Indian batsman has hit so many centuries during this period(2007-13).Dr DK Saxena

Dr. Dk Saxena, I never heard of people talking about his retirement after 2007 WC. But 1145 Runs from 21 test matches at an average of 31.80 without any centuries.
This is Tendulkar's test batting record for the last two years. From March 2011 till now. His overall average has gone down by more than three points in the mean time. It was 56.94 then and 53.86 currently.

I agree.one should accept that he is old & no team fears him.He is staying only for records & endorsement. His claim of not paying fr records is bulshit. He was great once.he is there now because of blind supporters. No body wants to speak truth fr fear of media & supporters.Kapil spoke truth & everybody hounded him.Pl veriy how many o his centuries has helped india to win. very few.Iam not his baiter but it is the fact.he is a nice man non contoversial but plays his cards very well.selectors should take courage if he does not quit.country first& individual later

Saxena, Not even sure if you have any facts supporting even a single statement in your comment.
Jain, excellent stat and explains why Sachin must go..
Tehdulkar can play test matches as long as he wishes. Not only BCCI but no body can come in that way. That said question is nothing in this world is durable. Every thing should come to an end. By prolonging his career, he is only spoiling his average, and also stalling deserving youngster from getting chance.
you should know no one is indispensable in this world. The old order always changeth giving place to new. Sachin do not have the years with him. and if he goes its not that the Indian cricket will end with him either. Sourav, Dravid, Kumble and Laxman were once considered pillars in Indian Cricket they are not now in the scene it doesnt mean Indian Cricket has not filled upe thier places. Instead playing Sachin you are declining a youngster of his rightful claim to the team. Other countries never think abot individuals. Ponting was no less important to the Australians than Tendulkar to us still they have been able to drop him and look ahead. and what you say about performing abroad, India has always struggled in foreign pitches barring a few matches and that includes Tendulkar too. So guys please think before you take the cause of Tendulkar
after scoring his 100th that too against bangladesh on a flat track , he stated that since he was on top of his game, he is not selfish to quit.
after eng & aus failures at home , he still is on top of his game , so it will be selfish to quit now. more over bcci contract money will stop coming if he were to announce his retirement.
