I agree partly with the comments of Ponting. Even though Tendulkar used to be a fearless daredevil during the early part of his career, he got weighed down by his own demons and expectations of the country and frequently used to get bogged down by mediocre bowlers. Have the seen the real Tendulkar batting after 2005?

meenakshi, why dont u check the record books. 2010 was sachin's best year in his career.
Do not know about cricket. In real life,Sachin is corrupt and Lara is not, that way considering ethics, morality I agree with Ponting.Sachin has done nothing to remove corruption from the game of cricket in India and further even less for his country. No responsibility as a person of high stature.

instead of commenting or comparing with other persons ponting just think of yours can you tell me in what way he is corrupt dont pass any remark without knowing the person
Sachin got Most Shocking decisions in the Test or ODI history. Sachin was given out at least 50 times incorrectly in Test. Which really effected his confidence when he was at his peak. If DRS was there Sachin would have crosssed 20000 runs both in Tests and ODIs at least 5 years back. On the other hand Ricky Ponting escaped many times when he was out, because umpires fear to give out Aussies that time.

Yes, records & stats are not the perfect measure of a players & a teams mettle. If you take the nationalist element out of the equation then I am sure Lara will rate much much higher than Sachin, watching Lara in full flow is like watching poetry in motion. Gavaskar No.1, Lara No.2, Steve Waugh No.3 & Sachin No.4.
