The IPL is deteriorating the skillsets of players, along with shifting the focus from Test cricket and 50 overs cricket, which needs more specialised skillsets than the slam-bang madness of 20 overs cricket.
The IPL should be played every 2 or 3 years. Otherwise it will spell the doom of Indian cricket, as every cricketer is focussed on building his 20 over skillsets, rather than 50 overs or test cricket skillsets, even though these are more played in world cricket.
Also the IPL , with its aftermath parties and bollywood mingling, is corrupting the austere and spartan discipline , work ethics and character needed for creating and maintaining the highest levels of sportsmanship.
The New Zealand cricketer Jacob Oram described it as being surreal. He stated , "“After nearly every game there's an after-party, there's Bollywood stars there and fashion parades; the drinks are free and the cheerleaders are around. It's a different world.”
All these also should be avoided and the true nature of sportsmanship brought into it.
Sports is for developing character , not for corrupting it.
Dhoni, considering the constant losses in test cricket, should give up T20 and CSK captaincy.
This will give him more space and time to focus on the one day game and test cricket, which is universally acclaimed as the best test of cricketing skill and temperament.
Dhoni has won the T20 world cup and also the IPL two times.
He has proved himself in these versions and has attained all his goals in these fields. There is nothing for him to prove in these areas.
He now has to focus on Test cricket, namely to win every away test series in each of the test playing nations,besides winning all the home series as well , and to attain the Number One position in Test Cricket, which is the true parameter of sporting prowess in cricket.
This is what he should focus on, as he has accomplished all that he has to attain in IPL, T20 and 50 over series.
Constant focus on slam-bang T20 cricket will erode the skills necessary for him to play Test cricket properly.

Dear, If someone has a cancerous tumor in the lungs, it is not a good decision to operate on the brain while ignoring the lungs. Similarly, the problem Dhoni has is mainly to do with tests (10 test matches lost in a humiliating manner). It is wise for him to respectfully bow out instead of causing more damage to Indian cricket.
Technically, CSK were in the finals and Indian T20 team was in the QFs. So, how can he be asked to quit for formats in which his team is doing quite well?

Dhoni is the Best Cricket Captain that world has produced! Folks! Jealous cricketers&vested interests are doing Dhoni bashing like sachin-bashing earlier, what a shame!India should have won the ODI with England easily!The most impprtant problem is Coach Fletcher, He Must be kicked out immediately, ever since he came, India has been going downhill!! Kick out Dinda, Ashwin and Kohli and Bring in Shani, Tiwari&Rayudu, Yuvi&raina&tiwari&rayudu can be used as part time bowlers, DHONI must tell Bowlers what to bowl in last overs to prevent flow of runs! Ishant shrma MUST be told what to ver in every over to prevent flow of runs&to get wickets! India still can win all remaining matches, if DHONI takes leadership and tells the bowlers what to bowl in every over, If Kohli does not perfrom well in next match, he must be dropped, hype alone is NOT enough!Kohli has time to run after tmaannna only¬ play cricket!

Dravid, incidentally, is the captain who led India to a rare win over England in England in the 2007 3 match series.
He definitely have the right to comment on Test cricket.

Enough time given by Sriniwasan for personal gains, Except twenty-20 no more captainship for him. Select new captains for ONE day & test team & nurture them under a good Indian coach like Ganguly.
Test Cricket - Dhoni worst as expressed by experts. One Day- Give some more time, Gambhir is the ideal choice if he regains his form. 20-20_ Dhoni is the right choice. CSK- Hardly matters, as Sriniwasan Uncle is there for mutual benefit gains exploiting BCCI.

Maybe Gambhir can play copybook shots but he has no talent. So he won't regain his form as he ages. Talented people generally play original shots, those people you can count on, as their reflexes are better than these hypes. I am beginning to doubt Rahne's talent too as he dropped a simple catch that reflects his reflexes. Umkund Chand maybe talented, should be brought in.
BCCI or TV channels should not employ the just retiired, retarrded cricket players to air their opinion. We all know what would come out of these thhird world class disccards or droppouts against former fellow players out of envy. This is height of jealosy. Already Laxman, Kumble and the like hate Dhoni for at least two reasons. One, as a captain Dhoni gave importance to talent and performance and to not some useless records. Two, they see talented Dhoni as a hindrance to push their communnity players in Indian side. Why then else Gundappa Vishwanath is looking to push Ganguly as a team coach to a team being currently led by Dhoni? This is third world forrward castte yet world's lowest castte nonn-sense.

Dhoni a gr8 captain & we are losing all games in last one yr,You may disagree me the gr8 Wall, but treat him with respect as he is a Legent & has been our best overseas batsman and has never been selfish, rather Dhoni has been partial and selfish on may occasions. 1.Favouing Piyush Chawla, RP Singh. 2.Biased with Viru and Bhajji. 3.Was not even contactable when Legend like Laxman wanted to take a final call on retirement. 4. Pushing Raina in test cricket inspite of obcious limitation in technical deficiency.

T20 requires a lot of talent so if a player good in that format learns some patience he can excel in other formats. So I think Dhoni persisting Raina is not bad as he also is a good game maker. Bhajji's temperament is world known, viru made some negative comments against Dhoni's captaincy, etc. Even then Dhoni does not show it out so openly.

He should not be in ODI and Test. He is hitter so good in T20. In ODI if he comes after 30-35 overs he is good. But if he comes before that he plays slow and save wicket and then start hitting so ultimately we do not have respectable score. So we lose the match unless bowlers do magic or batsmen of opposite team play bad.
