Dhoni lost only a odi match to BAN but under SG captaincy india have lost BAN in odi and lost to Zimbabwe once in test matches.You ganguly fans are jealous of MSD.Mind India have most of the matches vs ZIM and BAN under ganguly's captaincy.Dont write silly comments in frustration.
Dhoni is far better captain rather than Ganguly because Ganguly has 9 win agaist weaker team Bangladesh&Jimbambey Dhoni has only one win agst Bangladesh .Dhoni's other win comes against strong team's. bY SURENDRA SINGH SAMANT

Now Anil/Mukesh ambani has extended the empire and turnover is more than what when Dhirubhai Ambani was Heading, this does not make Anil/Mukesh better than Dhirubhai, we need to use our commensense in assessment not stats or figures

You look at current TOP teams did you see any frightenning names in any of the teams neither single team is consistent. Current Newzland team with limited resources is able to beat Australia and SA convincingly in recent ocassions. Pakistan & Srilankan are also weakest teams we have ever seen. The quality of the current top teams is equivalent to Zimb'n team of Ganguly's TIME because it has few legendary players like Flower Brothers and couple of topclass bowlers
I think Ganguly was better though stats shows other way..The reason because when he took over the captaincy the team was below the par with match fixing allegations and he was the person who brought the entire team together gave chance to youngsters..later it was the duo Ganguly/Wright combination which took the indian team to the next generation of cricket

It is very difficult to choose who is better - both led Team India in different times - Sourav built up Team India - Dhoni carried it on - both are challenging and difficult as well - but still considering the overall scenario - Ganguly would be ahead of Dhoni for following reasons:
1. Making Team India 2. Remove the black spot of match fixing 3. Making the team believe to win the test matches overseas 4. Better ability to reach the match 5. Buildin the TRUST within the team

Have you ever saw Dhoni watching Ranji trophy matchs scouting for talents? Dada did
Who is the captain adamant in persisting with Yuvraj even when he was struggling and backed him to core?
When Bajji had gone through long break for finger injury, who is the captain who used to keep calling him enquiring about his status and assuring him his position is safe once he returns?
Every other team is having strong WKeeper/batsman in their line-up then who is the captain solved this problem by forcing Dravid against his will to keep wickets? - This also ensured Dravid cement his place in ODI's and scored 10k runs
Who is the captain who solved our opening issues in TESTS by forcing Sehwag to open but still assuring him place even if he fails on top order?
These moves created greater impact on INDIAN cricket In tests INDIA contined to be No.1 not only because of Sachin,laxman,dravid but also major part is settled opening combination.

only idiotic fools in india think that captain brings any cup. If captain has potential to bring cup, then how after winning 1st T-20 wcup, India out in 1st round of next 3 consecutive t-20 wcups loosing all matches under same captain. Its no. & form of match winner players, quality of opposition & pitch conditions which decide any match & not captaincy
ganguly was aggressive which required to give some stamina to team india which team india never had, dhoni is cool as ice he only warms up at deshi pitches on hot and humid conditions.
