Agree with the article. Dhoni is a extra ordinary match winner. Very rare indian breed where most people like to bat in the top order and only care about centuries and averages and not about winning.
Roger Federer , Ian Thorpe and Usain Bolt should be the contenders for the sportsman of the century .This Cunning captain Dhoni is not a suitable contender for this availble .

The above mentioned are individual player but Dhoni is a team player. He deserve it.
India as a nation is giving priorities to ballebaj , gulli dande baj and such insignificant people rather than giving importance to national issues and the heros of the nation . Rediff I strongly request you and your paid writers have a look on the similar media in other nations including Africa . Their journalists are far better in wordsmithy and writing on issues of national importance than these guys /ladies who forgot their journalism . Dhoni is a low grade performer who knows the art of blaming others for their poor performance .and Cricket is not a sports in India it is mafia business .So please ignore these guys .Sickening article . chances are this will be deleted by moderator .I really don't know .Balakrishnan is from my own home town.

Mr Anil, this is a sports column - what do u expect Rediff to write under this column on "National Importance "? If u want to draw attention to "National Importance" issues, pl join Arvind Kejriwal than wasting (Y)our time here...
