wait for the SA tour.....
by Slumbai on Apr 28, 2013 10:13 AM  | Hide replies

these nonsense media should wait for India's tour of SA to finish b4 coming to conclusions...

Dhoni will never be able to reach double figures on the SA tour and India will lose the series 3-0...

tonking majority of mediocre bowlers on the dustbowls of sub-continent is no yardstick for a sportsmen of the century award...

and please for heavens sake do not compare him with the likes of Michael Jordan. cricket is a sport followed by 8-9 nations and there is hardly any competition in it...

Mahendra Singh Dhoni in T-20 International
Mts: 42
Hs: 46
Avg: 25.26
Strike rate: 109.59
100: 0
50: 0
Ct/St: 11/4
Man of the match- 0
Match winning Inning- 0
Wcup- 3 consecutive wcup loss in 1st round for India with dhoni as captain
He can score few runs in IPL using flat track & targeting one mediocre player in each side but he is a big failure in t-20 intnl where he needs to play quality bowling attack.
His slow batting in 2009/10/12 wcups caused many loss for India as he can’t stricke ball from start & his strike rate is pathetic 109 in T-20 intl. Never deserve a place in T-20 intnl team based on merit.

Does majority of Indians with population of more than 1 billion know about what Michael Jordan was playing? Don't underestimate our own glory with western thing. When experts are appreciating then accept it.

Dhoni test average outside
In WI 2006, 24
In SA 2006, 26
In AUS 2007, 17.62
In SLK 2009 17.5
In SA 2011, 35.8
In WI 2011- 19.5
In Eng 2011- 28.5
In 2011 Aus series- 23.0
Also dhoni after playing 42 T-20 intl has not scored a single fifty, no match winning inning, no MOM & pathetic strike rate of 105 (one of the lowest for any batsman in T-20 at his batting position)
In ODI overseas also he is a big failure as batsman who never perform when require due to limited batting ability & has hardly won any important ODI outside india with his batting.
He is a flop wicketkeeper also in last 3 series where dropped many catches.
He has no overseas century outside subcontinent in any format of game after playing 8 yrs of cricket while even batsman like kumble/agarkar has overseas century batting at no.9.
He is the biggest liability as a batsman in Indian team for lat 8 yrs.
Dhoni Overseas test captaincy record- Win-5, Loss- 10, Draw-06
Win includes Bng, WI, NZL, Slk

Dhoni is best
That’s why doing rest.

by akshay k on Apr 28, 2013 10:13 AM  | Hide replies

MSD has shown innumerable times that there is nobody in the world like him who can win matches form impossible situations. MSD is undoubtedly one of the most invaluable sportsmen in the world and the greatest sports person India has ever produced.

Pace and Bounce

Unless an Indian cricketer proves his abilities in a fast, bouncing and swinging wicket, he is not a complete cricketer. There are no ifs and buts about this.

Same way unless a foreign cricketer proves his abilities on slow, low, deadly turning and spinning tracks in India, he is not a complete cricketer too.

Australians come to India and get beaten and white washed on Spinning tracks, because with their soil they dont have and cant produce spinning tracks in Australia. They are born and brought up on PACY, BOUNCY wickets.

Same way Indians are born and brought up on SLOW, TURNING TRACKS. So we play like heroes here and when we go to fast pitched in Australia or SA, we get beaten and exposed.

I feel 95% of world cricketers perform well in their own country in their home weather conditions and on their home pitches and falter or struggle when they go in alien, overseas conditions. Only 5% of the exceptional, great cricketers are able to adapt to any condition and play in any part of the world.

Such cricketers are becoming rarer and rarer. I am TALKING ABOUT TEST CRICKET - The real cricket , played with hard ball, in hard testing conditions over 5 days. Test of Mental and physical fitness.

This is not like T20, where you just play 3 hours match one day, that too with so many timeouts, breaks, music, entertainment, dancers and parties etc. and then take rest for atleast 1 to 3 full days before next 3 hour entertainment.

In Test cricket, player has no time to relax. A full day of gruelling cricket and immediately go sleep the night and be mentally and physically prepared next day to field or bat whole day.

Dhoni improved technique
by Jomesh George on Apr 27, 2013 03:36 PM  | Hide replies

The great thing about Dhoni is that he has improved his techniques a lot in batting. That is the reason he could score a 200 against Aussies. He can now easily hit a 150kh short stuff from Steyn or a yorker from Malinga. His tag of the best finisher is getting better and better now but with a more agressive approach.

only in club cricket of IPL.
He is a big failure in t-20 intnl.
Check his records.
His strike rate is only 109 & has not won a single match with bat even after playing 42 matches
