If he scores a 100 in the present series he should quit. Better to quit on a high rather than being shunted out of the team and boored at by crowds

The Bombay lobby...
by Solomon on Nov 23, 2012 12:42 PM  | Hide replies

Now, this is what the Bombay lobby, who are propping up Tendulkar in the guise of cricket experts, will say:

- He is just one big innings away from finding his touch. Of course, the expert cannot predict when that BIG innings will come just like the weatherman when the rains will come...
- He must be given space. He has done so much for cricket (India?) that he must be allowed to decide when he will retire. My father would have said, `baap ka maal'.
- He is mature enough to know when he should hang up his boots. But has he grown up?
When he scored a century in a Ranji Trophy match in Mumbai recently, Boru Mazumdar (cricket correspondent), Gavaskar (Bombay lobby expert), Ravi Shastri (Bombay lobby expert) etc. etc. went ballistic about his batting and form.
No one denies Tendulkar is great (it will be difficult to say he is the greatest cricketer, given the record of Kallis as an all-rounder without so much lobbying, fanfare and adulation). It would be greater still if he retires and gives Indian cricket and youngsters the space it/they deserve/s without he being the focus whether he scores a duck, eight or hundred. Indian cricket is more important than Tendulkar!

Sachin was bowled by a classic beauty which spun right across the bat & took off stump ,off.
M/s Ravi Shastri & Gavaskar could not digest the fact that their pseudo great was bowled by a spinner who was not even sure of his place in the team. So instead of talking about the dismissal they kept making fun of high five done by Panesar. At least they acknowledged the fact that their portege may not be a world class batsman , but he is good high fiver.
Shame on such legends.

Just heard - BCCI has pressured ICC to grant test status to Ireland for one match to be played against India immediately (as they are not too optimistic about Sachin getting a century against BAN or ZIM), England board has received 500 Million USD from BCCI to agree to a postponement of the rest of the series.

Just like Gandhi family

They will rule this country forever because their grand grand father was a great man. Similarly master will keep batting because he was himself a great batsman.

Sorry - I love Sachin, but I think his time is up. He can contribute much more than just in cricket.

This is a bad phase for the maestro. It does not mean he should quit. It happened a couple of times for him in the past too. But he came back strongly. He will show strength in the next few innings. My view is that he should give up ODI and focus on domestic and Test cricket for a few seasons. He could very well recover his old magic. He should play more first class matches before Tests with quality bowling, not just a match with Raillways.

Those 8 runs are full of elegance, straight bat, still head, right at the top of ball, all quality, its pity that those 8 runs are only counted as 8 ,these 8 runs are equivalent to triple century, grow up sachin bashers...

Greed never pays
by Narayanan Mahalingam on Nov 23, 2012 11:47 AM

SRT is paying for his greed. He is hanging for the crores available for an annual stint in international cricket.
If you are greedy, you got to pay for it. International bowlers must be loving to see SRT coming to the batting crease.
Keep going you hero for few more years.

When Tendy walks in to bat the scorer immediately writes bowled...later he fills in the name of the bowler and some digit below 10
