He should immediately opt out for retirement. He himself is damaging his own good image. He is blocking an young player's opportunity in the game.

Even now it is not too late.....

Even now it is not too late. He can announce his retirement now also and when he comes out to bat in the second innings for the last time he will be given a king's welcome and king's send off. The selectors are afraid to drop him. The so called experts from the Bombay lobby will continue to prop him up and he is made bigger than the game. He is blocking the chance of a youngster who, I am sure, will certainly make the scores that Tendulkar has been making over the last 22 months in Test cricket! Tendulkar, take a call and go out with majesty ..... already people have stopped asking `why' and are asking `why not?' (retire).

Let him enjoy his cricket and Indian cricket suffer. Poor Ajinkya Rahane will not get a chance until this old fatty retires.
