Biased media and ex cricketers
by narayansathyanarayan sashidhar on Mar 10, 2012 04:44 PM  | Hide replies

Just about 15 days back, the ex-cricketers and media were gunning for his head. Especially Mr.Gavaskar who was very kind to Dravid after his retirement, was repeatedly telling that it is time for Dravid and Laxman to go. But yesterday on NDTV he was telling that his lunch became sour after hearing the news of Dravid's retirement. How quickly these ex cricketers and media change their colour. Be honest in recognizing his services for 16 years. Just 2 months back he was the top scorers in 2011, and in one series you decided his fate. Whatever it may be, Rahul Dravid is the greatest cricketer of this modern era.

Most of the Indian viewers' have the same mentality. They are puppets in the hand of media. Look at all the people who want Laxman/Sachin's retirement...... If they score a century in their next series, all the same losers will l1ck their feet saying "he is playing so well even at this age":)

I agree with Sampath. Dont see him as a congresspolitician. See him as an individual. See his qualification. If he had no interlock from the HQ which always keeps him silent, he could have been the next best PM after Atal!

The big difference is Dravid came into the side on merit, not handpicked by Narasimha Rao or appointed by Sonia for being a loyal carrier of their orders. Dravid's hallmark - his performance and integrity. He played his game with dignity and for 16 long years, never compromised on his integrity. He quit captaincy and quit cricket, unlike Manmohan Singh, when he felt he was underperforming, Such is his integrity. How I we wish Manmohan has his integrity

Forced to Resign
by Pankaj Baadkar on Mar 10, 2012 04:23 PM

Our very own people forced the champ to resign,Our very own people, who cant remember the achievements and performances for so many years, but remembered only two three scratchy series.I still believed that he had another 2-3 yrs of cricket left in him.But anyways he has gone with grace. What is Kapil dev demanding so many answers,he was thrown out off the team when he achieved his feat bolwling to tail-enders.
I'll stop watching test cricket the day VVS retires another unsung Hero. It's a delight watching them play together. The people will then come 2 know that their places are permanently ir-replaceable.
Salute to the Champ.

Re: Truth Prevail
by ganu pawderwala on Mar 10, 2012 03:33 PM
Sorry its truth.Indian selectors continued playing him only on the basis of performance of one series world cup 1998 in which other indian batsmans failed. He scored with average of 39 & strike rate of 72 (his best at that time & may it be till date in any series).

But truth also is after immense competition from Yuvi, Gambhir, sehwag, vvs he improved a lot aft 2003. & became a Great Batsman.

Hats off to dravid. He is one of the best test player. Not only in indian cricket but in worldcricket.

wish you a happy new life.

Now please dont start abusing me. I see most of Indians forget reality when they are high on emotions. We should accept & respect him as he is. His defensive innings doesnt make him anything bad but a great Indian Wall.

Slow and steady wins the race. The convincing performer , silent killer is a legend to remember. People who are talking in internet may not able to stand a ball against whom he have scored Centuries. So request all "please respect the legend" for his contribution to the Indian Test side. Thanks Sir Dravid..u will be remembered till Test Cricket is in earth....
