DUDe, who doesn;t play for money???? name 1 cricketer... atleast Dravid has class to take retirement after humiliating tour of Australia
Somehow, I could never regard Rahul as a great batsman. Undoubtedly, he could be a good hard working human being and a desciplined person but that can never make him an excellent addition to indian cricket. Firstly, I always felt that technique is good till the time it adds runs to the score card. Whats the use of ultra defensive approch of playing 50 balls and then gettin out on unplayable delivery in the end. Rather, score runs on ordinary balls and let bowlers make mistake with aggresive play. Probably, thts why ppl njoy Veeru more than anybody else. For me, Rahul is no better than a average student who finally managed good ranks with plenty of hardwork and some good tution classes!

With Dravid stabilizing one end, other batsmen could go for attack. If not for that, you would just see wickets tumbling at the other end. He was the skeleton of the team, flesh/blood/skin wrapped around the bone and made a human body!
Rahul maybe an average student who managed good ranks through hard work. But of what use is talent without hard work??

In addition to what invincible said, what can a batsman do when there is an unplayable delivery when he is on 0 or 80 or 99?? 13k runs in tests & 10k runs in ODIs and stil people doubt his talent?
In 344 ODIs, his avg was 39.1 and in 164 tests, his avg was 52.3

Rahul dravid is no-doubt one of finest cricketer India hav ever produced, its unfortunate that illiterate people like you say such things who do not know the actual game of cricket which is test-cricket... 20-20 & one-dayers are just timepass cricket, just for your records, Dravid made 10,000 plus runs in both forms of cricket and w/o his help the other Batsman would not be able to score runs

very true.. he was a burden in odis and tests he got away with a slow strike rate. once he was removed from odi, the team started winning high profile tournaments. hope there wont be another dravid like player in the team.

;-).. Which story are you writing??;-) BTW we came back empty from Australia CB series.
Dear Rahul, It is true that Indian Cricket will not be same after you left it in this critical junction. It must be a hard dission but, this is the character you have always shown on and of the field. You have created your own milestone even in the era of Sachin. I do not know the present arrogant young cricketier in the time of IPL money will understand your absence or not. But you will be always a guiding star for those cricketier who really want to play for the country with their head high.I SALUTE YOU the ..........WALL.
