Good to hear
by Santa on Jul 11, 2012 06:45 PM  | Hide replies

Love for cricket, passion for cricket, worshipping cricket bat and ball, etc, etc are all good phrases to hear. Bottom line is that there are many talented youngsters waiting out there, dying for an opportunity to play for the country. Why don't you mentor and coach young players and guide them to play quality cricket with your love and passion? There are many other ways of displaying the love and passion for Cricket apart from cementing your place in the team until your son makes it to the same team.

Why not? I'm not sure why you are asking this question. Most of us would definitely do that. Given the clout he enjoys among cricketing fraternity, he can influence any decision related to the policies of BCCI and he could use that clout for the benefit of infrastructure development, player development, etc.

A person, who is ahead WILL NEVER think of adding a "few"..

All along his 16 year Career,
he was ahead of Tendu in terms of runs & achievments.

He was awarded Wisden in 1994 - 95, itself!

Yeah!
Tendu, migh play for 7 more years, so that,

Ponting, who retired,
never, for once matches his
"foolish" 25000 ODI runs.

You don't need to have citizenship of a country to play cricket for it.

USA not yet qualified for WC2015, rather none apart from full members qualified yet (will be done by end of 2013). btw, Most probables would be four of these IRE,AFG,SCO,NETH,KEN,UAE,CAN.

Another half literate. aaaah, with such abysmal knowledge of cricket systems why do we even call ourselves a Cricket loving country?

"Sachin" taking all for a "Ride"!!
by Rakesh nair on Jul 11, 2012 06:24 PM

The "Weak" Selector (Srikant) is "Clueless" as what to be done!!!!
"Sachin","Sehwag","Dhoni","Gambir" & "Zaheer"...should have been "Dropped" for a period of "6 Months" for there "Pathetic" display in "Aust" & "Eng" where they "Njoyed" for many "Months"!!!
So many "Youngsters" waiting in the "Ranks"...who can give "Win" for "India" but due to "Power" & "Influence"..."Sachin" is "Holding" his "Place"!!!
"Sachin" has "Blocked" every "Possibility" of being "Dropped" ..."Srikant" in one "Pocket" & "Sports ministry" in "another" (RS Memeber)!!!
"Sachin" will make a "Deal" at the end of "2015" ...to give 'Chance" to "Arjun"...then only he will "Retire"!!!!!
In "India"...'Winning" is not "Important"...satisfying "Individual" ambitions are far more "Important"!!!!
Sachins "23 yrs" of "Employment"..."PadmaVibushan"..."Mighty Records" have "Now" become a "Curse" to "Indian Cricket"!!!!

"Individuals" important than "Winning"
by Rakesh nair on Jul 11, 2012 06:10 PM  | Hide replies

Very nice to hear "Sachins" statements on TV ...SO "Polite"..so "Humble"....so "Innocent"!!!!
"Sachin" himself got "Benefited" Largely with these wondeful "Traits" than "Team India".
"Sachin" is there in the "Indian team" becoz of his "Passion" for "Test Runs" & "Centuries"......And if he is "Unfit" too.. then it is "Doubleblow" for "India"!!!!
The bigger Picture is Out of 11 Players in the "Team" ,does any player "Compromise" Teams position for "Individual Gains"....
Iam not talking abt 1 "innings" but infact in the last "10-15" yrs...
At Present,It is very "Crystal Clear" to everybody that 'Sachins' is only "Playing" for "Records" in a "Team Sport"!!!!
"Records" gives more "Happiness" to "Sachin" than "Winning"..
Becoz "Winning" goes in to "Teams Account" & "Records" go in to "Individuals" Account!!!!!

i think i can understand what he is trying to say.

for eg. sachin's 175 against australia where he got out and we lost in chase of 350 runs in the odi. if sachin had helped us in winning that odi the ''win'' would have been ''team's'' and the 175 would have been ''individual'' record. as it happened he got out and we lost. that means the ''loss'' got credited to ''teams account'' and 175 got credited to ''individual'' account.

i think that should clear your doubts...

i think i can give you couple of more examples to make the point clear.

in wc final gambhir made 97 and dhoni made 91. both these were ''individual'' records. we won the final therefore the final win i.e. the wc win got credited to ''team'' account.

if these examples cannot make you understand his point i am sorry to say nothing will make you understand what he is trying to say.

okkk, so you mean we won wc final because Gambhir and Dhoni and only their performance was the reason to India's win.

Btw, if by chance Dhoni had a century and still team would have lost who would have been at fault? Is there any possibility of opponents playing better than our team in your scenario? ever? :)

Right, for the first time you got my point! It's always a team that outperform other team to win a match.

Well then apply that logic to all the discussion here and you get your answer. It's never possible that your 2 batsmen can win you a world cup or the other batsman is the reason you lost. As a team majority of players need to outperform the other team so that it can win. No single player can win or lose a match in team sport. That's why they call it a TEAM sport.

I hope you finally got the point, and if still not then this discussion is futile. Then just accept you hate a guy for nothing and you just want to hate him. End of discussion.

ooooh, that's really amazing logic!

So where the records of guys who screwed up after Sachin got out goes? In teams screwed up record or other players individual incompetency?

There are no "Individual" records in team sports. I hope there will be a day when Indian people will understand this, both persona haters and lovers.

excuse me, in the example i gave above it was sachin who screwed up. he was there a well set batsman and we needed to get about 20 runs in 3 overs with only 3 wickets left...which were either new and inexperienced and therefore sachin should have taken the responsibility...after coming this far he faltered (i am sorry to say, 'as usual'). it was sachin who messed it up. true he played well to take india there but he needed to finish it off. he could not again 'like usual'...thats the problem with sachin either he does not finish things off or he fails in critical situations. thats why he cannot be called a great batsman,...

Answer lies in your comment it self. 3 wickets Sachin let's say these 4 guys were incapable. Then what about the remaining 7 guys who screwed up? You think they are not at fault because they left the pitch well before India could even reach near the winning state? :)

Great logic, I just feel so insecure when I see such type of genius logic applied to team sports. No wonder we Indians are not good and consistent at any sports.

Mr Infinity, if there are no ''individual'' records in team sports would you agree that the 100 100s is not an individual record? i.e. it is not sachin's but everybody's for eg. dravid, laxman, ganguly, kumble, bhajji, dhoni yuvraj etc. etc.???

yes, It's just a statistical data of how much contribution a player had. Which eventually be surpassed by someone else or go in history for nothing (apart from place to discuss for old timers.)
It's nothing more than a statistical representation of who is performing and who is not performing in team. In the end what matters is which team won!

It's those persona haters or lovers that can't think beyond a person who make such statistical information into so called individual records in a team sport.

"Sachin" a "Burden" on "India"
by Rakesh nair on Jul 11, 2012 06:06 PM

"Sachins" statements are "Laughable"...these type of "Statements" should be made by a "Virat" or "Rohit"...Not after "23 years"!!
Nowa days "Sachin" has another job... to create "Paid news" for the "Illiterates" or "Educated Illiterates"!!!
The plan is "Sachin" will "Retire" at the end of "2015" & "Arjun" will make his "Debut" in the "Team"...through "Back channel"!!!
After 2015 ,"Citizens" will see "Sachin" has the "Record" for "Most WC Appearances"....50th ODI 100...."Kallis' & "Ponting" way behind 'Sachin"....Journalists" praising sachin....Bought "100" Crore House in New York City!!!!
But During all these 5 yrs we see "India" losing more 'Matches" just to 'Satisfy" one Individuals "Thirst" for "Records"!!!!
"Srikant" & "Corporate BCCI" are perfectly aware abt "Sachins" hidden "Ambitions" but still.....Compromising "Indias" Position"!!!
