by Linhg on Jan 31, 2012 03:36 PM  | Hide replies

For sachin cricket is nice income..why anyone will retire in sport or professional life if he is earning so much...it is very hard get rid of it...he would have signed some deals still 2015WC who know that...until BCCI do something he wills stick till 2015 WC.. since BCCI is controlled mumbai politicans hence nobody can question him..ravi and gavskar bats for him everywer...

Mr Rajiv, if he would have playing well now nobody has right to question him..take his last 2 away test series..his avg is 35..he failed to score 100 against dead flat pitch..if anyone other SRT would have been dropped from the team till now.

Take it in good sense guys! If he had retired after world cup, we would have remembered him for that and we will think that he should have played more. But see what happens to Laxman now. Every body wants to throw him away! Remember Jayasuriya! Do we want to see that happen for Sachin? See Bradman. He retired at an avge of 99. We all remember him for that too. That's what he mean. I also don't want Sachin to retire now.

Ling, with ur logic, there would be no one in the Indian team except Dravid & Kohli (top scorers). Laxman was a total flop in the 2 series with an avg of 21.1, he is still in the team. He will still be taken for the next series.

how can he retire since he has signed multicrore deals for 100th
by Linhg on Jan 31, 2012 03:25 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin will not retire until he gets his 100th 100..he has signed the 16cr deal with coke for this... coke is ready with 6.5 million cans manufactured in the month of may brand called Tendalya 100.. Coke payed already 10cr advance..if he retire without that 100 then he has to pay back 10cr with interest.. he was under pressure from sponsors for that ton..who knows he might have signed many deals like that.. only this is one is there in public domain..if u think I am wrong please google it..sachin and coke ecnomic times dated 18th July says he world's largest beverages brand plans a grand tribute to Sachin Tendulkar who is one century short of becoming the first batsman to score 100 international centuries: launch some 6.5 million special Coca-Cola cans with pictures of the master batsman.

The move will help the cola giant make the most out of its Rs 12-15-crore endorsement deal with Tendulkar signed early this year, and make up for not leveraging the association during the Cricket World Cup that India won.

Remember when Laxman (who is not at all an ODI player) was dropped for ODIs. He was crying for almost 2 years or so. Everyone plays for money my friend.

Re: NO SACHIN-NO CRICKET
by Rajiv Kumar on Jan 31, 2012 03:22 PM
This is heights of exaggeration Koni. Sachin is India's pride, no doubt. Imran Khan was a great cricketer! But these statements are political ones, I understand. And I am not defending Imran. But to say the whole world used to switch off TV after he got out would be a blindly exaggerated statement. Indians do not comprise of the whole world!!
And he cannot be best for life long. He is a human, and is bound to fail. It is the fans who burden him with very high expectations each time he goes to bat!

Annoncing retirement and later coming back into the team when the board members change, might be a norm in pakistan ...not so in india. here retirement is taken seriously and there is no coming back thereafter.

by subbu on Jan 31, 2012 03:01 PM  | Hide replies

that in india cricket is not a sport. it is a business. it is a means of making money by fooling crores of indians who have no other work other than following these money makers. coming to your point why should sachin retire. he has now got a steady but big income. he has enjoyed govt provided house for so many years and now only managed to build his own house. he can bring ferrari to india without paying duty unlike so many of us who pay 30 percent of our hard earned salary to this govt and get nothing in return. why shoud he retire when he has so many privileges for doing nothing other than fooling people with his iconic status?

I have the rights as India is a free country and someone is coning the entire populace including me. I was once a mad fan of sachin and now feeling ashamed that I got cheated for so many years. First you dont have rights to intrude into my free speech

Your World Cup speech, Imran.

You were so humble, in sayin', without any air of arrogance,

"At the twillight of my career, I managed to win this World Cup..."

And also,

You gifted that money,
"to the Cancer patients, which is my obsession..."

I remember dear.

None of these craps made such a gesture & were simply inundated with "undeserved" fortune,
for that cup which they woon last year.

My father likes you (and Wasim), &
I too.
:-)

Dude, it was the very same speech which sparked off controversy in Pakistan. Imran's contribution wsa almost nill in this world cup win(1992) and yet he gave credit to himself when all other teammates had performed outstanding. He took away the glamor frrom the then youngsetrs like Wasim, salim malik etc.

your comment shows you have not watched 1992 wc final. The stand between miandad and imran was solely responsible for turning things around in that match. first see the match and then comment
