Yes, but he retired after winning the world cup for pakistan.

Also, no reason for you to refert o his religion. This is a cricketing matter and at least show that ettiquete to a cricketing great.

and immediately after winning the world cup !!
I dont think he is commenting on tendulkar's age , he is commenting on the timing of retirement . What's wrong in what he has said ?

Retirement
by Dinesh Kumar on Jan 31, 2012 01:28 PM

No Pakistani should ever talk of retirement. They retire citing one reason and they are back to playing soon. Plenty of examples - Imran, Miandad, Md. Yousuf, Afridi, etc..

Imran's comments
by Ravi Kiran on Jan 31, 2012 01:28 PM

Sachin, I am sure, will retire at least from one of the two remaining formats he is playing (i.e, Tests and ODI's)after making his Century of Centuries. That would be more HIGH for him than the world cup glory. India needs him for a couple of years more in Test Cricket to groom few youngests in place of Rahul and Laxman.

Crook Imran Khan!
by Yeddysobha on Jan 31, 2012 01:27 PM  | Hide replies

Imran Khan is hypocrite and crook and enemy of India!
There wa time when Hadlee had Test Wicket record and was broken by West Indian Welsh Courtnet !Courtney walsh's record was broken by Kapil Dev !It was great moment in Indian Cricket !
Imran Khan was so jeolous of Kapil Dev;s feat that he urged Richrad Hadlee who had retired for more than two years then to copme back from retirement and play Test cricket and better Kapil Dev's feat!
Imran Khan is enemy of India and should be shunned by Indian media !He should not be invited to India and never by India Today international meets!

A Great batsman like Sachin getting out to Bachchaas like Steyn, Morkel, Pattinson, Siddle, Lyon, etc etc.

They are such cheap bowlers and they hardly have respect for Great batsmen like Sachin, Dravid & VVS.

I think all 3 are Rich enough to have Cricket academies of their own.

Sachin, Sourav & Sehwag already have Hotels, so if not for a Paan shop, atleast a Decent restaurant can be set up by them to lead a Happy Retired life.

Hence I would request him Humbly that he along with Dravid, VVS Laxman Retire with Honour and Dignity and join the likes of Sourav Ganguly, Md. Azharuddin, Anil Kumble, Nayan Mongia, etc etc and form a Nice Cricket academy for grooming youngsters instead of playing poorly and spoi_l_ing Country's reputation globally.

I agree he was Great, But Time has Caught up with all 3 of them.

Your hero nver had a rocky innings like VVS or match saving innings like Dravid or Kapil's 175 or Gavaskar's 221 not to mention the knocks like kallis or Ponting in winning matches! SRT is way way below than Gavaskar - He is like a cashier counting his runs but he would never be fondly remembered like that of Richards or Sobers or Gavaskar or even Kapildev. Problem is you would not understand becvause you are a taliban in your mindset

But Imran the cricketer is a great allrounder. He is not advising, rather giving his opinion. There is nothing wrong in voicing an opinion.
