failed in bowling friendly conditions?
by RKN on Jan 25, 2012 09:05 PM

Ishanth, fast bowling in india is difficult, you even failed to take wickets on bowling friendly conditions like Eng or Aus. What about that?
Cricket is funny game, you never know what happens next..blah, blah..
Finally look at the numbers, your bowling averages and strike rates and then talk.

Ever other team that played aus in last 6 moths have not let them score over 400, but our bowlers have given them this oppourtunity

Sydney test - Michael clarke dropped Ishant sharma off his own bowling. Ball hit straight back at him when clarke was in his 30s. Ishant didnt react fast enough. Ball hits hand and ishant sulks. Result - Clarke scores 300

Adelaide - Ponting hits straight to Ishant. Ishant obliges and drops him. Both times it was hit straight. Luckily Ponting had already scored 216 runs by then.

Either you are lethargic or not very alert or you dont expect wickets off your own bowling. Who else can you blame. You have something missing. Is it line, length or anything else only experts can advice. As a spectator all i feel is - you and your coach dont sit and plan batsman wise. Appears from your statement, you just stick to the way you bowl for every batsman. There lies the problem. Who is going to sit and tell you how to get it right? All the former cricketers are busy doing Aaj tak channel or NDTV blaming rather than helping. I just sympathise with fellow fans like me who wake up middle of night hoping something will happen.

Blame it on Dhoni! The negative mindset is because they do not know how to play Test Cricket! They rarely aim for wickets and switch to defensive field after just a few overs as if it was just because of power play that they had to keep the fielders close to the bat! Then they switch their hopes to declaration from opposition!

Current breed of Indian bowlers lack grey matter
by pradeep agarwal on Jan 25, 2012 06:44 PM

The lack of planning to get wickets is very evident when one see listless effort of bowlers.they just run & bowl without trying to find the weakness of batsman or trying something different to unsettle them. The only one who seems to have variety is Zaheer who is short of fitness & looks tired from first ball of the match

Over-hyped bowler..
by jaguar on Jan 25, 2012 06:30 PM  | Hide replies

well, he's just running like a mad bull and throwing the balls at the batsmen.. he's bowling for the sake of bowling. If he were an intelligent bowler, he would have got some wickets.. time to shoot the bowling coach if they have one and run to greats like wasim akram for advice.

bowling for country is not a big motivation..
instead bowling for money and stardom is indeed a big motivation....
had there been no such money in cricket, would u have even bothered to play this game?????
