Worrying about the injury could affect him mentally while bowling
by Nikhil Shah on Jan 26, 2012 01:00 AM  | Hide replies

Ishant in WI series at home played the 3rd Test instead of resting.

With teams like NZ winning in Australia, and Pak against England, the problem could be psychological. Teams like NZ and Pak are weaker than India. The gap between FC cricket and international is also purely psychological as well as overseas versus home performance

The media, players and officials have always engaged in hyping up pitches
to be quick and pace and bounce being a problem. But apparently there were no demons
in the pitch which shows that the mental aspect of anticipation must have affected them.

The two main areas are, individual mental toughness and team dynamics.

For a player personality, form, composure, discipline, fear, motivation,
positive thinking, self confidence and belief, temperament, focus, patience, will power, morale, intensity levels, fiestyness and anger control are personality issues for individual players.

Team dynamics in sports is divided in to 2 parts:

1. Social dynamics:When players don't get along
2. Tasks dynamics: When team cohesion affects the end result required by players tasks.

The problem with Sachin's goals like 100 centuries can affect team cohesion and team dynamics. In Social cohesion, when players don't get along.

Losing your temper is another problem with team cohesion, when LBW decisions like a player of Sachin's calibre is out.

It demoralizes the team, and the mental dis-integration is ongoing. Inspiration and emotional lift is needed as well

This guy knows bowling fuller can get him wickets but is not ready to do so telling that it is not his natural game and keep bowling short and is not getting wickets

This this guy wonders why is he not getting wickets thinking might be because of bad luck

We should have taken Sreesanth to Australia. He would have shown all kind of aggression instead of being passive.

India badly need bowling coach. Otherwise the energy (Which is very rare !!!) from Ishant and Umesh will be wasted.

At the point Zaheer is too old, Ishant and Umesh are Ranji level bowlers.

When they play 90% of matches inside India, whats the need for fast bowlers. India never had fast bowlers, except Kapil, though he was less fritful in his final laps

biggest motivation is IPL for all cricketers. people like ganguly and sachin and dravid and laxman, who dont have reflexes left are hungry for more and more money from IPL. why to blame these youngsters? lets boycott IPL...dont buy a ticket and let this tournament get lost! i bet u will c quality test cricket from India in no time.
