Shadows of the1983 win.
by sunil pawshe on Feb 08, 2012 02:07 PM

Gone are those days when the players actually played for their country. Now a days the sport has become so commercialized that the individual player is bound to put personal gains through product endorsements before his responsibilities and commitments towards his country and fellow countrymen. The 1983 world cup win shadows still loom in peoples minds, but its high time they realize that those days have gone past long

India's performance in Australia
by sarveshwar pande on Jan 09, 2012 12:15 PM

....the writing is on the wall.... Australian have re-written history and any player who had been written off had shown whenever tehy had an opportunity to play with the Indians. Ponting was on the verge of forced retirement but his performance has delayed retirement for certain seasons by now due to scoring a century. Indian crickerters play for themselves... not for their country so why is everybody so perturbed....... Let them enjoy.if they are not doing well....they would be answerable... why is everybody so mad when they lose or win as if they would share their income with the poverty lot.

Green Top Pitches
by lateef abdul on Jan 08, 2012 06:32 PM  | Hide replies

People have been talking about preparing bouncy pitches in India, so that when our pseudo heroes play abroad, they feel like playing at home. What most of us don't understand is, Cricket in India is basically a batsman's game. How many people will go and watch the game if a batting side consistently scores under 250 runs in an ODI. BCCI will never do anything to repair Indian Cricket Teams reputation in away series.

Dont u know the concept of low scoring thrillers? It will make the game more interesting & challenging than 300/400 scoring games.

Reasons for india's failure : psychological/scientific of views
by vijay on Jan 08, 2012 02:31 PM  | Hide replies

1. see , in australian ,english pitches , due to cold conditions , the soils there tend to contract and elastic , so ball bounces , seams , swings, in indian conditions due to hot weather soil expands and ball keeps low , never swings much.

2.indian batsmen n bowlers , since they eat less varieties of protein rich raw meats n sea foods have lesser physical strength , so medium bowlers n malnourished batsmen.

3. in swinging seaming conditions , while batting , see the difference in approach by english n aussie batsmen , its clearly visible that even tendulkar is playing forward , on ball trust ie indian batsmen applying indian method of batting - playing the ball seeing from bowler's hand , while aussie batsmen play the ball after pitching.

and on the contrary a more enjoyed and relax attitude can help the players overcome any stress !

It is a sports game and not a war or an exam.

some will give their best others may not - it is ok

These guy are still the best we could send there !

So lets take the defeats wiht pinch of salt and come back wiser !

good is this Aussie team on turning tracks? If Indian team is a flat track bully foriegn teams are also no different. Shall we call them 'Grassy track bulls'. Seriously, India should play its domestic cricket on seaming grassy tracks. But when teams come visiting, we should play them on turning tracks at test venues and highlight their inadequacies.

True, but we should stop calling ourselves #1 team if we cant play on all surfaces.

Thats why I said ,play domestic cricket on grassy tracks. Since we play spin well naturally , we will shape up better in both conditions(getting used to seaming tracks in domestic cricket).
