good for nothing Jones said India will never win Worldcup
by Talisman on Feb 25, 2012 08:54 PM  | Hide replies

This is the same Dean Jones that bet on his life that India does not have the bowling and will never win the WCup.

Team India made him eat his words. Now, he harps on Sachin. Dean Jones should find some other profession.

Ponting was good. But never Great as Sachin is. So top comapring Sachin with lesser players, please.

but you forget talisman, that when jones said india will never win the wc you AGREED with him...because thats what you also wanted to happen especially since dhoni was the captain and our team was filled with youngistan players...at that time you did not think jones should find some other profession...

now that he is speaking against sachin you cannot stand it and are asking him to change his profession...

Poor analysis by the good-for-nothing Kangaroo!
by Neetiman Kumar on Feb 25, 2012 08:47 PM  | Hide replies

That is a poor comment. Punter had to go, because Aussies consistently produce players like Forrest, Christian, Wade, Pattinson etc. Is that the case with the Indian team? Sachin would have gone out automatically, if any of the new players had the consistency to challenge his position.

The unfortunate truth is that the others in the team are worse players than Sachin. If you want to drop Sachin, then Sehwag, Gambhir, Raina et al should also follow suit.

That is the real problem for the selectors. Ant not the lack of courage. There is simply no replacement for this great player, at least for the present!

Neetiman: then why do our players, officials and fans always shout from the rooftop that India has lots of talent to play this game......
its a shame that a nation of more than 1.2 billion cannot find 11 good players.....
time to ban this game and focus the energy and resources other sports...

I am reacting to the article written by the Dean Jones. If you have time, please SMH site to see it. In the end, the fellow himself says even he has considered a comeback to cricket, seeting average players (and of course, the dolars!).

As regards people telling about plenty of talent in India, both you and I know how rotten our system is. Basic truth there is none with courage to tame the so-called BCCI, which is the root cause of all problems of cricket in India.

And if you want to ban this game, you are welcome. But then, what will you watch, Girls' Beach Volley Ball?

Abe duffer country has more talented players but sachin never like to vacate seat for them. He is an old man and how long he would like to play. He played cricket for money not for charity. Let him sacked and give chance to another player.

;-)... Abe duffer country has more "talented" players so why is Dhoni not letting other Wicket Keepers play? :)
Sachin is at least allowing other batsmen to play... :)

If sachin had played for australia
by Indian on Feb 25, 2012 08:45 PM  | Hide replies

he would not have crossed 10000 runs in either format...
bcoz most of the times he would be playing on bowler friendly wickets and as the recent tours of England and Australia suggest what his performance will be like when he plays in seaming and bouncy conditions.

Stupid
by king on Feb 25, 2012 08:40 PM

Jones is stupid to compare Sachin with Punter, in Aussi team it only Punter who is not performing, in indian teams its only sachin who had perform with bat in test matches and got starts in most one day matches, Why should he retire if even at 38 years he do well with bat, even now u think he should bat full 50 overs score winning runs. lesser player like punter is compare with him its one thing to perform when u are in company of performers like aussi team its easy. it very difficult to perform in non performing team like india. and remember the harbhajan debut match he was 18 in same match a ausi in his 30 made debut to become performing player for next 4/5 years and we drop Abhay kuriwala just because he was 28 or 29 in name of promoting youngster and see the result not a single pacemen who can bowl in tight matches and win with ball

Sachin-retirement
by ram iyer on Feb 25, 2012 08:37 PM

It is hightime cricket takes a back seat;why all these old guys are sill batting &bowling half heartedly?Bring a rule that 70% of the money collected by all these players thro'ads shoud go back to BCCI who in turn should be heavily taxed. Is it not because of the game all these players are making tons of money thro'ads.Once their sponsorship money gone all fellows including Sachin will automatically retire;no need for selectors to tell them to go!

What the problem in sacking Sachin
by Akash Pandey on Feb 25, 2012 08:37 PM  | Hide replies

If sachion has not shown hiss willingness to take retirement himself then no option remain to sack / drop him. He played cricket for earning not for charity. No body like to drop his earning but be should tell him to go home and vacate the seat for new one.
