by the time the match would have been over. if kohli would get support from ashwin if not from sachin similarly he would get support from sachin if not your rohit and raina. argue logically.

In fact gavaskar did not tell rohit or raina to be rested. he told do not rest anyone instead drop who are not performing. read the article carefully. you want youngsters to play more even if they fail and not seniors even if they did not fail because they are aged.

He talks about resting 'NON PERFORMING PLAYERS'. SRT's scores have been better than most of them & hence it would be arisk to rest him. Instead MSD should be rested - as he has not scored well uptil now.
I may be branded as aMumbaikar when i write this but people should realise that even when he is goiung thru his bad phase Sachin is averaging amoong the top 3 in the indian Batting in this series so where is the question of his being dropped out

no one is saying he is bad. but his age is the factor, he may not be able to run,field, throw. How long would the captain be defending him on the field.and also, do you think he will play in 2015, dont we have to plan for it from now, now that 2015 wc is in australia ?

Playing in 2015 is a different story, but it seems you have not seen Sachin running between the wickets, which is as good as our young players. His fielding is also MUCH better than at least 8 players on the field. He is there in the team ONLY ON HIS MERITS & not just his name. Even during the downfall of the team, he is in top 2/3 scorers. He should not be blamed if whole of team collapses in a meager score after his dismissal (Look at the scores in the tests).

You are yet to let me know what are the matches dravid got moms for winning cause. by the by for your comment on sachin being old dhoni still places him in the deep knowing that he would field better and also throws better. zaheer khan, ashwin, praveen kumar, vinay kumar, all these players are poor fielders than sachin. moreover nowadays no one is picked for fielding abilities alone. one has to do more than fielding. if you practice now for 2015 wc then it is a joke. our captain himself is not sure whether he will play or not. are you sure that only raina, rohit jadeja will play in the 2015 wc? what is the guarantee. if not then why are playing them now. do not plan for 3 years later. first plan for tomorrow.

moreover are ponting, hussey and hodge (aged 40 recalled to play for t20) going to play wc 2015. why aus are playing them? because they are not planning for 3 years later. one cannot lose all the matches for the sake of wc. drop anyone who is not performing. do not go by age.

It will be advisable to CREATE FAST PITCHES LIKE Oz here & practice, rather than keep aside a player, who is scoring among a scantily playing team
Sunny has a preset mindset for Sachin. According to him Sachin is the only guy who is carrying his legacy and so is the case he pampers Sachin on every occasion. Let Sachin continue to play or be rested. At least I would request Sunny to not to suggest names likes Raina or Sharma to face the axe. They are the future of Indian Cricket and need to be handheld and nourished in the times to come.

The guy is having one of the best avg. even after the world cup in 28 inning he has played compared to the other Indian batsmen. You think he should be thrown out? Are you crazy???? If the team looses it doesn't mean that they lost because Sachin didn't score a ton. They lost because other 10 didn't perform also. Really develop a cricketing brain before you make such hideously disgusting comments about someone who you all were rooting for just a year ago.

It will be difficult for them to remove him, if he plays more matches, because he is consistently scoring among the top scores from the side. (Refer scores of all players in matches)
