Only thing two records remainin for him to become GreatEST:
1.200 test matches - achievable by next 2 yrs 2.All He needs is just that elusive triple century to lift him to the league of Greatest ...one practical way is to have a test series with bangladesh or kenya or Zimbabwe....no may be remove zimbabwe their bowling is little to fast
Sachin is no greater than Pele, Maradona. As sachin is playing meagre cricket (still Football is more popular internationally), he has not done anything GREAT.

We can even never compare players from the same sports. We cannot compare Gayle with Cook(Gayle is a power player while Cook is a technical player) Messi is a forward while Roberto Carloss was a defender.Federer is a hard court player while Nadal is more suited for Clay surface. But one thing is common for all legends their commitment and passion for the sports

very true. nice post yours. puts things in perspective...other fact bein that ...just a few days ago whole nation was gunning for his head and now see the hyppocrisy
An icon like SRT could have given a better farewell by playing him for a last ODI match and greet during the presentation ceremony.I hope atleast in tests he will be given a guard of honour during his 200th test and a proper farewell. In cricket jersey must show the achievements of players. For eg in IPL Murali's jersey no is 800 showing the no. of his test wicket tally and Gayle has a jersey no.333 showing his highest score in test cricket.

HE (SACHIN) IS THE REAL SPORTS PERSON WHO LOVES THE GAME BEYOND ONE'S IMAGINATIONS, AND I'M QUITE SURE HE HAS NEVER DESIRED HIMSELF TO BE GIVEN A RED CARPET WELCOME OR A GLAMEROUS FAREWELL. PERHAPS THAT'S THE REASON HE ANNOUNCED HIS ODI RETIREMENT THROUGH A PRESS RELEASE.
