BCCI announces the slew of measure with the retirement of Sachin. The most important is the it has sent an order to all world sports body of cricket that it is RETIRING the 1 Down Position in the Indian ODI team and will play with 10 Players now on. They have asked for such honour to be done on behalf of the legend.
No 10 jersey exists in Brazil & Argentina which was once adorned by the likes of Pele & Maradona!So let us regard the game supreme than the individuals however much we adore them!!
we don't have the bench strength...we all saw this in the last 20-20 against england...now we don't have the likes of Sachin, Rahul, Laxman and Kumble ...four pillars. we should give more respect to all above as others nations did to their players like Australia, England..
It is a good idea to retire Jersey No.10. At the same time also retire the legacy and culture of Master blaster of playing for records,company endorsements etc. BCCi should strictly implement the policy of including inform players not of old records of players.
There is no need to pay tendulkar back. He has been paid handsomely. Neither is not playing for free nor did he give up his wealth. He WAS a fine player and finer players will emerge.
