Yes, it would be a fitting reward for this batting legend and a mark of respect for his place and position in the team.
In the same breath i also mention that it would have been a fitting retirement if Tendulkar would have called it quits soon after World cup 2011 instead of waiting for so long...
He should have retired after wining the world cup in 2011...on high note. He should't have waited so long to retire....on low note.
Tendulkar was just a part of the cricket. Cricket will continue even after tendulkar & we will see more players in future who will deserve to wear the 10 jersy.
Sachin is the Gawd of cricket. No one in the current team deserves Sachin Jersey. At the least they should achieve 1/4th of what Sachin had achieved to be even considered for the Sachin Jersey. Most people do not understand the contribution of Sachin in the team. With just being in the team, it gave a lot of advantage to us. The opponents always planned to contain Sachin and others were able to play easily. Every team has a plan and I am sure no team playing against India came with out a plan for Sachin.
