The saying goes " a Captain can only as good as his team". MSD is no exception. Though he may not walk into the Indian as a wicket keeper or as a batsman he is still good to lead the team. One should look at the performance of other players namely, Gambhir except for two unconvincing 50s what did he do. Viru only one hundred and some other innings he was good only in patches, Sachin is only a sitting duck on his past laurels. The actual culprits are the bowlers. If our bowlers can only defend a large total then it is better we look for under 19 players. WE can take cue from the Hockey team consisting of mostly under 19 players came 4th in the Champions trophy
IS not a bad captain..but his selected team members does not fulfill their expectations. dhoni should not be allowed to name his eleven, but selection should be given some senior selectors.dhoni should be given a full team but the selection of the team should not be his..he is useless selector
The selectors should not spoil the budding test career of Kohli by thrusting captaincy on him. The pressures of being India's test captain had taken its toll on the likes of the great Tendulkar and Dravid and they opted to step down as captain. We need Kohli to perform as a batsman which would get affected if he is made captain. Let Dhoni remain as captain for some time during which period Kohli can be groomed to take over from him.

Kohli will be a very bad captain as he will never be able to concentrate on his performance and responsibilities as he will spend all his time fantasizing about his South Africa-born, English lover Kevin Pietersen!
sunil gavaskar never asked sachin to retire even after pathetic form for a long time..This is dhoni's first failure mostly due to senior players like sachin and Gavaskar is asking him to retire. Gavaskar is himself a selfish player like sachin who are always after their own personal records. Dhoni in a short time has achieved much more than what Sachin Gavaskar have ever achieved.
