NO NEED
by Shilpa Mehta on Dec 19, 2012 10:05 AM  | Hide replies

Bad or lean patch do happen in everyone’s career .
No need retire . Same team should continue barring minor changes .
Any major changes will result in even bigger losses . Whom will U select ??
Are any great players sitting outside ?? We’ve to manage the show with same lot .
Kohli played very good since last one year but failed badly in this series that too at home .
But scored brilliant century in last test . Should he retire ?? But he’s still bit immature
for captainship with only 2-3 years of international exposure .
After brief failure , MSD played a match saving innings . Should he resign as captain ??
Taking retirement / resigning is surrending in cowardness .
Player should have courage to overcome failure & bounce back strongly .

Kohli as a captain?
by Ramesh PK on Dec 19, 2012 10:00 AM

I think, his temperment on the field is childish! Already he has got intoheated arguments number of times.
We require Shrewed, cool headed aggressive captain.
I thin Gautamis good, but has to be more dependable batsman.
Otherthingscome second;first start eliminating non-performers!

Gavaskar and shastri to retire
by kaza murthy on Dec 19, 2012 09:59 AM  | Hide replies

Both Gavaskar and shastri should retire from commentory roles. Their views are boring and monotony .They keep supporting mumbai players particularly sachin.

it is a tradition in India. Too much money to keep players greedy. Even Gavsakar, Kapil, Shastri was forced to retire. SRT is just another....

I think only un-biased comentators are Saurav & Kapil!
They put their heart & soul to cricket unlike others.
They do not care for BCCI & its money!!!

Even Saurav talks too much. Even he also want to be in good book of SRT. He has lost that guts.

Replace Dhoni now to day all papers and media elaborating this news.
All seniors are talking about this issue is it ok? Think once?
Dhoni is already given signals to board he is interest for ODI caption
This mistake is for BCCI or Dhoni’s
How seniors are not talking about Sachin performance as senior most player what is present scores in the England series and last one year? How is wasting one place in the team Answers is there with Gavasker or Bedi and Srikant ? who will give answer? If he not intrest take rest why he is wasting of one place in the team.
Ok Dhoni is done great mistake we agree, but what about BCCI doing How many players waiting for indian team berth?
Now Raaidu only in T20 team like so many players are waiting.
Do not blame only Dhoni’s placement always Indian mentality is to discourage the persons who is in the top they think that if replaces this player new one is very good and imagine that new one is very good This mentality not only seniors players and all Indians are also like this?

Don't Ignore the wisdom of veterans

Gavaskar, Bedi, Mohinder Amarnath, Dravid, Ganguly, and Srikkanth are all recommending the same. The time for the "Madaari's Monkey" - selectors to show they have spine and can take independent decision. Time has come to say farewell to the veterans and start building the new Indian team. My personal choice for a futuristic Indian team:

1. Jiwanjot Singh Chauhan
2. Unmukt Chand
3. Cheteshwar Pujara
4. Virat Kohli (Captain)
5. Shikhar Dhawan
6. Ajinkya Rahane
7. Uday Kaul or Naman Ojha (WK)
8. Umesh Yadav
9. Sandeep Sharma
10.Balwinder Singh Sandhu Jr.
11.Harmeet Singh
12.Aparajith
13.Manprit Juneja
14 Mandeep Singh
15.M. Vijay
16.Bhuvneshwar Kumar

India need young legs on the field. Give these youngsters chance to develop the future of Indian Cricket.

Dhoni is given to world cup to India even though so many players are also tried after Kapil dev cup in 1983.
After 1983 world cup also India failed in the series of West Indies that time Gavasker is also one player in that team that time his feeling during those period please remember those days (to Gavasker).
Don ‘t blame only Dhoni If possible give correct and workable ideas to BCCI other wise ……..please

wtf! gambhir is the main reason we won T20 world cup and 2011 world cup. dhoni did a selfish move to come up the order sensing that scoring runs was easy.

and if you say he gave world cup, accept that he gave to india 2 whitewashes and a great victory to england after 28 years.

As usual ...
by King Kahn on Dec 19, 2012 04:21 AM

Gavaskar's comments are way off course! Kohli might be a superstar but he needs to cultivate the temperament to become humble and collected during positive/negative times. Dhoni is, IMHO, still the best player to lead the Indian team!

No one else?
by ajith pl on Dec 19, 2012 01:51 AM

Kohli was not in the picture till the 4th test as he was struggling to form. All of a sudden, he scored a 'slow' century and people like Gavaskar rose to talk about appointing him as captain. Is scoring runs the only benchmark of captaincy? Let Kohli mature and gets a cool head and then offer the captaincy. Dont put pressure on him now and would be better to make Gambhir as captain as there is no one else whose position is secured. Let Tendulkar retire from ODI immediately and Test after Aus series.
