With due respects to Dravid and Laxman, let me say, that everyting has to come to an end one day. One just can keep continuing for ever. May be it would be a temporaty loss for the Indian cricket, but the youngster who would replace may turn our to be a better replacement. One day we were all thinking who would replace Kapil Dev and Gavaskar? Now we remember them for their games and don't miss them. The same applies to Dravid, Laxman or Tendulkar.
Firstly, it was not a good day for Indian cricket. It is very difficult to imagine a batsman like VVS will retire in this fashion. The saga of foul treatment with great players continues in Indian cricket. Sourav, Dravid, Kumble, VVS, ...so on and so forth. People sometimes laments – why we are not a great sporting nation? Why can’t we win medals in Olympics? This is one of the many reasons, that we don’t know how to show respect a great sportsman. It is not Dhoni’s fault or fault of the selection committee or its chairman. It is a culture that actually prompts this behaviour. Tomorrow Dhoni will also be treated in the same way, unless he is clever enough to take a right decision at right time. I hope he is not. Its the money and only money that is driving the Indian cricket right now. Also the vicious circle that was created in Indian cricket over IPL, Dhoni is kind of brand for that. So he can not be questioned. Had VVS been a poster boy for IPL, his exit would have been different. Even at the age of 39 or 40. I can bet. Lastly, VVS, we will miss your touch and elegance in test cricket in coming days. Best of luck for your post retirement days and please forget and forgive the ill treatment.

The choice is always yours. Even before you fed up with sachin you could have watched others. It is your choice always for which sachin cannot help.
