Dravid & Underperformer !
by Shakti Chittara on Apr 30, 2012 12:34 PM  | Hide replies

"If it is about form, save Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir and Rahul Dravid, all the other captains in this edition of the IPL have grossly underperformed." ... Mr. Writer, Are you out of your mind??? Rahul Dravid has performed way better than any other captain, and you included his name in the list of underperformers? He has scored 276 runs with average of ~31 & strike rate of 113. If you want to prove a point its ok to include an exception. Why do you have to drag Dravid's name without any proofs. WTH !

You need to understand English first before commenting. The author is saying except these 3 captains, others have underperformed.

selfless would be opting not to play in ipl, there you go. can he afford to lose millions of dollars , for the benefit of his national team?

already lankan management is worried about angelo mathews picking up an injury

He sat one out too, but gave the reason as a niggle. Some would suspect, he was dropped. There's nothing selfless in what sanga did. Such decisions are taken by the support staff. Darrel Lehmann would be the one behind this.

Dravid was very selfish when Chappel were one by one slmashing Tendulkar, Ganguly, Viru, Bhajji, Zaheer. Ganguly, Zaheer , Viru and Bhajji were dropped for no reasons but just for the attitude problem of Chappel, but the gr8 Dravid was ever slient and protecting the captaincy.

that is not called selfishness...if you think he should have spoken up and he did not speak even if he thought it was wrong then the correct word is coward not selfish...

anyway it is matter of opinion whether they should have been dropped or not...ganguly certainly needed the break and it did him good as he came back stronger than before...

even though zaheer and bhajji were not pleased and thought that greg did them wrong...it is also true that zaheer accepted that what greg was trying to do that is bring in youngsters was correct policy even though zaheer felt that there were other ways of doing it...

when kumble was captained it was he who dropped sehwag and took yuvraj in the tests...but later realised his mistake and brought back sehwag into the side and sehwag responed very well and we won the test immediately after the monkey gate incident...also in the 4th test sehwag played very well and made century in 4th innings and helped us save the game....but dont forget it was captain kumble who dropped him and had to later admit that dropping sehwag was mistake and at that time he said yuvraj's time will also come...

Manoj tyagi, i would also like to add here that what zaheer, bhajji, ganguly etc. felt that is insecurity is supposed to bring the best out of a player...

even in australia that is their policy and everybody agrees that that is the reason why australia was no. 1 all this while...

that is their insecurity was the reason that the australian players always tried their best as they feared that they may be dropped and another player taken if they did not perform well...ask damien martin, lehman, langer and others whether they did not feel insecure in the australian team...in fact these players felt the same way that zaheer, bhajji and ganuly felt during greg's time...
