He was known as Tiger Pataudi. May God rest his soul in peace.
He was known to stay in five star hotels, when his team was staying in modest hotels. He used arrive in his car 5 minutes before the match, most of the time drunk. But played well nevertheless.

Nd u were his moll..thereby knowing the minute details! Shame on you..Hideous nd incorrigible fellow.
I know MAK Pataudi since 1974-75 West Indies tour of India. he was Indian Captain and West Indies was led by Clive Lloyd. Those days people used to talk that he is having one Lamb eye.

i feel myself gratified as i watched PAT bat and field in Test,Duleep and Ranji Trophy matches. he was the pioneer to give importance to fielding and must be felt ashamed to see present day indian fielders. his greatest motivation to indian cricket was giving confidence that india could win matches. remember he did'nt have kapil Dev, Gavaskar or Tendulkar. BCCI never utilised his guidance since he could not be tamed to toe their lines. may his soul rest in peace.
He was one of the best captains India to lead India. Who can forget his heroics in Australia against the likes of Mckenzie, Conolly and Hawke in the 1968 when in 6 innings he scored more than 360 runs @ an average of 60 plus runs. He was also the one who encouraged players like Bedi, Prasanna and Chandrasekhar by insisting on spinning tracks in India against the visiting teams.
To lead India in 40 test matches is no small feat, let alone the distinction of being the youngest test team captain ever to lead any country in the World till 2004.
My heart- felt condolence to all the family members.May Lord grant strength, courage and patience to each of the family members to bear the irreplaceable, personal loss and rest the departed soul in peace.(Amen)
