fielding is key, if one gives away 10-20 runs in ODI. Can they get him off the field like they did for parthiv. Also varun should have been tried in practice match and same with pragyan and rahul sharma

yeah i agree that fielding is also very important, esp if one is bad like munaf, one does give away runs.

sury das,

cricket has now become a rigged sport..the best example.....is....hyping of a mediocre player like....dhobhi..

BCCI will make sure the cricket ends up like hockey.

Soon you will see, people losing interest in cricket....it appears to me that Anna has woken up Indian youth.....now they understand their priorities.

God bless you Annaji. I have never seen Mahatma, but you are his true disciple...and I am glad I could see you live via TV. I wish I could have been there physically.

Well sachin is one example. Media creation and fools like you dig it. Only fools who follow superstars will lose interest in cricket. So if you lose interest in cricket, all the more better LG. Less discussions about your dumb conclusions. Nice try throwing anna into mix and make it sound like you are making some valid point.

ofcourse, ICC core is controlled by ANgrez and they control the schedules as well.
If angrez can win, they will make indians play in rain as they did in last ODI when Swann was hitting and angrezz ICC paid umpires called the ODI off when swaan and bopara were out. CHEATING has backed the hard play by angrez.

is the best captain in this universe because only he could take India to

# 3 rank in test
# 5 rank in ODI

That is also the reason why some...stupids...posters here always hype him as captain...cool...instead of captain...fool..

only fools...remain....cool no matter what happens around them.

Intelligent and balanced people are proactive....they show sign of urgency in challenging situations...not a flat face devoid of any emotions, which is mistaken by stupids...like u for being cool.

Do not confused being balance with so called being cool ( a flat face devoid of any sign of urgency).

But..stupids..like u who will never know. Well I do not care as it is your problem.

lol. You with your 5th standard intellect will never get it. One works best when one does not allow emotions or pressure get the better of us. Being calm and controlled allows one to make best decisions regardless of situation. Not that the decision will always work. But far better than getting agitated and being under pressure. You are a kid and once you reach an adult age mental growth you might understand what i am taking about. Until then bask in your ignorance and make a bigger fool of yourself in rediff. hehe

Proactive does not mean showing emotions. One can be devoid of emotional display and be proactive. LG your mind is one confused mess and mostly driven by hate towards a person. Once you let that go, you might understand what iam taking about. Otherwise be a fool that you are and then call everyone else stupid. LOL.

England also suffering from injury with key players tremlet, broad, morgan. anderson etc. Peterson/strauss not playing ODI.
Still englnad didn't give any excuse & both strauss/cook gave good tharshing of indian team with whatever resources they have.
Fact was england better team & india have captain fool dhoni who never desrve a place in test/t-20 but still playing due to political resons

time for another swan song
by thomas mathew on Sep 17, 2011 12:50 PM

Rahul Dravid indeed deserved a better swan song than yesterday for his unselfish contribution to a format which his style of play is not apt for. He has kept wicket, scored runs, fielded well all without any whimper .

I think it is time that a swan song is arrnaged to the biggest non-contributor to the series loss who is our new coach who has been appointed. I am not expecting a miracle to be done by him on the tour but atleast something, some ray of hope could have been provided by his positive handling of the team , like Gary Kirsten did in rejuvenating a team without winning ways to winning team of the world. I think the old man needs a retirement and his home needs him.

Persons like ravi Shastri or Gavaskar should take up this job for the Indian team like Waqar Younis did for Pakistan , jelling well with the youngsters as well as the seniors and bringing the morale of this team to that of a real fighting team who wins . Even Siddhu would be a good choice if he is willing to give up his unfruitful political ambitions and come to take up this job. The indian players need a person to boost their morale and not just to show that they are completing some task imposed on them .

He is not a match winner.
Just plays for his records.
Test & t-20 he doesn't have records also apart from lack of winning capability, still playing shamlesly for last 7 yrs in these format of game

Touring strategy - Revisit.
by LOL on Sep 17, 2011 12:49 PM  | Hide replies

I think it all boils down to the touring strategy. We have not understood a few main aspects from past performances. To help improve
we should put in place a strategy that includes....

1) Not to tour SA, NZ, Eng and Aus because they prepare bouncy tracks and our weakness is exposed already.

2) Not tour Sri lanka as they prepare spinning tracks that does not suit Indian spinners. Only Sri lankan spinners can take wickets there.

3) No one recommends touring Pak due to the political climate. Its a better strategy to lower risk of losing citing terrorism and other political issues

4) We just finished the WI series. Since they will gain strength with the newer talent find and the pitches are known to be true, avoid
touring WI for the next 5 years or so for the benefit of Indian cricket

5) SO that leaves Zim, Bangladesh and of course Netherlands! We can safely conduct tours to these nations and mentor them on the basics of cricket. There is only one in a thousand chance that they can stage an upset so it kind of falls in place perfectly!

6) An alternative is true to Indian tradition we can invite every team to India and play in those dead tracks so our players can be comfortable playing their natural game!

Any takers?

all great team win in other countries also.
See how Aus thrashed Srilanka in test & England won ashes in australia also.
India could only draw in SA & SLK & tharsahed by england.
Even against weaker team like WI b team (without Gyle) we could manage only 1-0 win that also courtsey dravid century otherwise dhoni team could have lost even against WI B team in WI.
Lets accept the fact that dhoni is a big failure as a batsman & captain overseas.
On merit he will never find a place in test/T-20 in any international side. see his overseas records. But in india what matters is political/media/add agency pressure & manipulative skill & not the talent

Don't you bet on it... :)

I personally don't remember when did we "whitewash" a foreign team on our "dead tracks"... inflicting several innings defeats in the process...
As for Australia getting drubbed by Sri Lanka on "sub continent" tracks, I seriously think that too is merely a figment of your imagination .. :)
