d/l method is used in a way to help the english side

i just dnt understand how the hell this guys hav done this d/l calculation it seems that they hav decided no matter what happens they will keep england ahead..........if all of u remmber the super six game in the 2003 world cup south africa was also in a same sitution lost six wickets needing 40 in the last five overs and were still behind the d/l par score.......and here england needing 39 runs in 5 overs lost six wickets and still ahead by a good margin.....and in the next instance they even crossed a limit.....when they lost 7 wickets d/l par score was needed to b at 269 after 48.4 overs and england was at 270 and even after another wicket after 1 delivery d'l par score required was still 270 because englans score was 270 .........what can u guys call this ...........this will b called as manipulating with numbers to help england winning the series.....ideally as england lost 8 wickets the d/l par score should hav been at 272 after 48.5 overs........i just dnt understand why no one is raising question on this ...i m sure if it wud hav been england instead of india they wud hav raised question on this ........the bottom line is it was a joint effort of the english players and the umpires that england hav won the series.....

LOL
India is still No 1 one day team
by LOL on Sep 12, 2011 02:46 PM

I think the current team is well moulded for the shorter version of the game rather than test cricket. This brings up a point that we will need two different teams - one for tests and one for one-day / T20. We should not be mixing up players between the two. Only those with strong temperament in batting and strong wicket taking abilities in bowling need to play test cricket. All the deer sprinters (between wickets) and innovative shot makers can be restricted to just playing the shorter version of the game...

Make england bite the dust when they come to India next month.
by alexander alex on Sep 12, 2011 02:21 PM  | Hide replies

Hi guys i was there at Lords for the 4th, ODI , it was frustrating the rain i mean, after rain stopped they could have gone on after a while to finish the remaining 7 balls and come out with a result, but lights not allowed i believe then why did they have the lights on in the last 10 overs or so when England were batting.
I am sure when England comes to India next month India should aim to tear them apart and hand them a white wash in that series.
All the best for the final one day at Cardiff for Dhioni and his men.

Dhoni as a batsman
Test Avg over all 37.0, Test avg overseas 28.0, No overseas century or match winning inning in test carrer even after playing 61 test.
T-20 intnl avg- 25, Strike rate- 105, No fifty or match winning inning in entirer career even after playing 27 matches
ODI- Good avg manipulated due to no. of not out innings & manipulative batting position. Even in ODI most runs scored on flat indian wicket against team like Pak/SLK & no overseas century.
As a wicketkeeper- Dropped catches in almost every match.

Dhoni test average outside
In WI 2006, 24
In SA 2006, 26
In AUS 2007, 17.62
In SA 2011, 35.8 ( one inning of 90 when styen/morkel was kept out of attack for 2-3 hrs)
In WI 2011- 19.5
( score of 0,16,2, 5 & 74(only one good inning when WI was operating with bowlers like bishoo/chandrapaul & front line bowler rampaul/shammi etc was resting due to injury).
In Eng 2011- 30.0 (present series)

As a captain good record only on indian pitches. Overseas he has lost more test matches(06) than what he won(05)

Dhoni is best
That’s why doing rest.
hehehe

end of captains era
by RAJAGOPALAN VENKATESH on Sep 12, 2011 01:13 PM  | Hide replies

I think the chemistry or the alliance or the combination of Dhoni and Gary Kristen works out well and bring many victories. now the bad time starts for our team when the entry of "Fletcher" as coach. It is the time to change the captain or the coach.
