Pathetic

to see RP Sing playing for India. He will not get a place in the 2nd best 11 from India. But still selectors not ready to give chances to youngsters and even the one who is in the 11 is still waiting in the bunch!!

India is a fast bowlers graveyard. Poor RP singh and so many others. A batsmen centric nation suffering from having no bowlers once zaheer got injured.

WORLD CHAMPS
by nidhima magnotra on Sep 12, 2011 05:24 PM  | Hide replies

World cup champs, World at our feet,
Nice and slow pitches, victory was sweet.
Banglas came first and Viru thrashed them blue,
Friendly little bowlers and fielders too few.
An odd tough match and the going was great,
Sachin, Yuvi, Bhajji, all had own story to narrate.

Then came tour of England and things went sour,
Chest-beating champs looked boy-scouts to war.
Fab four fizzled , only Rahul the rescuer,
Fabulous reputations but not one of them a doer.
Half the side injured, fitness claims hollowed,
Viru flown in a rush, a double -duck followed.

Anderson, Broad, Bresnan; there seemed no respite,
Blown in the wind, famed Indian batting might.
So much ado, Sachin's hundred will have to wait,
Fighting lonely battle, too little too late.
Test cricket is weird; IPL is our scene,
Few slogs to the fence; and money is obscene.
Five long days are too much of a strain,
Far too much effort and no cmmercial gain.

Memories are short and soon all will be well,
An odd whitewash; Oh, what the hell?
An easy home series and averages will be better,
Once T20s start; You really think this will matter?
Victories and whitewashes are a part of the game,
Failures fire resolve, so there is no shame.
Idea is to be fit and back home in time,
We belong in plush studios and not this sweat'n'grime.

Those indian monkeys who jumped in happiness when india won the WC. Now see the indian cricet and cricketers.

Moral of the story is never get carried away by wins or lossess. Be humble always. Today india has won the WC, tommorrow it may be Pak, china , bangla etc etc. So dont worry.

Very well-written piece by Ms Magnotra. Rhyming verse and yet meaningful, not forced, is tough.

Got the message wrong did you ? Be humble does not mean not be happy or celebrate. If you meant don't belittle other teams or others, then you are right. English have missed that lesson too it seems.
