Keep Dhoni as ODI captain give chance for others like gambire as T20 captain and dravid as Test captain and keep 3 teams because as kapil said blowers can't blow all 365 days

:-). Yes. Having Uthappa as keeper resulted in a disastrous whitewash in England recently.

if gambhir open with rahane uthappa is best, gambhir captain rahane kohily yuvaraj pathan uthappa keeper raina aswin munaf patel praveen kumar vinay kumar
this is not first time ..he played this type of cricket before..he has no logic some time..but i love him because he brings two cups for us ...he need rest for long time minimum 2 months
Here in this forum, all are critizing Dhoni or Sachin or Bhajji. Who else you all need to play cricket for India if not these people. Why always have pessimistic thought about a person?
Re: All are pessimist.
by Rajeshbabu g on Oct 03, 2011 03:19 PM
cricket is 11 players game. but some time it is one person game .in t20 1 ball is important. dhoni bhai forgott this lesson and his attitude chennai in last spot

The same chennai won twice in IPL as well as CL outside india under him. Your hate makes you talk like some people in rediff for whom a defeat wipes all out all credits earned by lots of victories. They must be losers in life. So suit yourself.

People like you says every time, When sachin scores India fails. So what does it means? others including Dhoni can't play in Easy conditions? or those were difficult condition? If your version is right (Sachin scores only in easy conditions), Others including Dhoni cant play even in easy conditions? If they can play, India would have won all those Matches.
And about your other arguments. You people says Sachin can't play in crunch situations.
Let me ask one thing, How the situation coming worse? When players like Sachin, sehwag etc getting out early. If they played well, you people will say it was easy condition.
I know, you will ask about 2003 world cup final (350 runs) (Only that you have). He got out early.
We have answer for that. When India needs 400 runs to win against Australia, Sachin scored 170 with the strike rate of more than 130. You people will forget that easy.
Please just give me one name, who played every game. He is also human being, he can also have mistakes.
Grow Up man and think wisely before posting foolish comments.
It doesn't means, I am wise. Because even small kids can understand this simple logic
Dhoni is just an average cricketer.he knows his strengths and does very well to exploit them.If you see dhoni, most of his great knocks have come in indian subcontinent.when he gets a chance in friendly wickets,he goes on to make a big score.most of his knocks have come when the team has been in a position of strength.when the sun shines,he makes hay.another thing I have noticed is his ability to shine when the team loses. In the recent one day series in england, dhoni managed to be the top scorer.when the team fails, dhoni plays slow and try and make maximum runs.he may make like 40 runs from 80 balls but since rest all have failed it would look like he was the only guy waging a lone battle.in such situations when the team is down let's say 64/4 chasing 250,he will never play any lose shot but try and stay on crease and save his wicket.he will take ones and twos and make his individual effort appear bright.the team will lose anyways, but dhoni would emerge as the top scorer of the team.such knocks help him keep his place in team.i do not know if we can call him a match winner like sachin or sehwag who can come and score sixes and fours at will at any stage of the innings.people hav been comparing him to great gilchrist.gilly's knocks in tests have come when aus has been five down for sub 100 scores at great strike rate.when gilly or sehwag is on song there is nothing called a good ball or a bad ball...it get's treated the same..dhoni cant play good balls even when at his best

Loaded with assumptions that 100s are his great knocks. Pathetic. His best knocks are those 40s and 50s that he scores when he has to do resuce acts along with Raina or yuvraj for example. When will you guys wake up from the flat track centric cricketing knowledge.

lol. Little boy, batsmen dont win matches for india by themselves when they play in away series. It is the bowlers. You take a good chunk of ODI matches he has played in the last 2-3 years and you can see. He remained ODI No 1 for sometime before india started playing again in India and flat track bullies took over. Now dont go looking for centuries. That is where you kind gets it wrong. The value is in the quality not the quantity. Hope the learning process helps you and next time you think before writing the amateur stuff you wrote.

big daddy, again you have not quoted specific instances.you call dhoni a great finisher.show me a few instances when he has won matches for india abroad.in many matches,he has really struggled and laboured to get to 40s and 50s.he looks like the best exmaple of flat track bully.all his centuries have been in indian sub continent.only once was he man of the match outside india.where and what's quality in this??you support your comments with statistics....do not beat around the bush for the heck of it...if he cannot win matches in away series then wht use is he??

Son, he is the best example of a player who has understood what indian cricket needs. Somebody who can make sure there is a total on board. He understands the importance of partnerships and staying till the end and then accelerating. And for that purpose he has transformed himself from being a flat track bully he started out to be. But it affects his shot selection or risk taking. That is a disadvantage, a sample of which you saw in the match. But you are an amateur to understand it in detail. He has curbed instincts for sehwagish shots to play the role that india needs badly in ODIs. Something i thought rahul dravid did very well and was very instrumental in india doing well in ODIs. And something players like sehwag and tendulkar can never ever do. When you understand cricket, you will understand what i am writing here. Right now you talk like an amateur.

2011 world cup finals was for ours to lose.and tht was in india.and that was the only match where dhoni played well in WC.wht he did yesterday,he has done before also.in last IPL too there have been times when he has batted like boycott.wht's the use of his getting a man of the series award when we have lost the series??he's a good player who knows when to play well and he makes the most of the conditions.you cannot call him great, that's all i am saying.

Kid he has only started his career. He has to be evaluated and compared to others at the end. But your rants dont make him a bad player like you make it out to be. He is a good captain and a very good player. One who used his brain compared to rythm and pattern players we have in plenty. Someday you will get it.

BCCI has not forced him to play in IPL & CL before & after England series.he wants to play for big moolah & but need rest when it is for country.
Re: Re: wahhhhhh
by Varun on Oct 03, 2011 02:51 PM
hehe. BCCI is far more powerful than you assume. Stop being naive. Dhoni or sachin or whoever might be popular, but not above the board and its dictum.
